The staff at reception were very accommodating and helpful. Mrs. Amanda helped me with my booking because my flight was delayed which made me stranded at Roswell Airport. The following day there was no taxi, uber, Lyft etc. Mrs. Carla went out of her way and drove me from Artesia to Roswell Airport to collect my rental car after her shift. I have been overseas for 22 years and to return to the States and to find this hospitality and kindness these days are hard to come by. Thank you, Mrs. Amanda, and Mrs. Carla for being so thoughtful. What a wonderful place to stay in Artesia. So clean and cute. The common area and being attached to the restaurant is a nice touch. Good news ! You can not hear the patrons in the restaurant.

I would have liked to stay longer as I love historical aspects of my surroundings. The fact that Artesia is proud of its oil and gas history is interesting. The tribute paid to the men and women who did this work is exemplary….. I was impressed with Artesia.

Pros: very friendly staff; good amenities for the price; breakfast ok; microwave in room plus fridge
Cons: smell of gasoline in room plus hotel on second night forced us to move to a different room in the middle of the night. Hotel is opposite a fuel refinery (see Google Maps).
Conclusion: I would not stay there again because of the fuel smell. Pity, because we liked all the rest about the hotel.

Artesia is a booming oil town. Oil companies have taken the prices up to the extremes.
Hotels are overpriced.
Places to eat are extremely limited.
The only reason we go there is because we have family.

The staff are what sets this hotel out from the others in the area. In every interaction here they went above and beyond.
The pool was out of action, but, for a change, there were actually people working on it, as opposed to other hotels that just put up a closed sign. We will be back.
