for about $100 more than we usually pay, we could see the difference in the very new looking furniture, and other amenities. there was not a scratch or a drip of paint anywhere. the guy who checked us in made sure we had a handicapped room near the breakfast area since that would have been helpful for us. the beds were comfortable everything was clean. the breakfast was delicious and plentiful, similar items to most hotel breakfasts. the dining area was more luxurious and nice than most hotel breakfast areas. there was a very nice and clean pool and hot tub area which we enjoyed. we very much enjoyed our stay here!

This house is the coolest place I've stayed along my journey across the US! Becky and Dave were awesome and extremely hospitable while also giving me great tips on neat locations to visit. I HIGHLY recommend staying here if you ever get the chance. I would suggest making a special trip to stay in their fantastical home that is full of art and amazement. Dave's pancakes are out of this world! They are both artists and the vibe was super chill. I'll be telling everyone I know about my experience.

I only stopped overnight. I wish I could have stayed another day to explore the shops on the Arcata Plaza. They have good restaurants and a Farmers market on Saturday morning. Definitely worth a couple of days to explore shopping and nature.

Poly college tour. we could only stay 1 night but the location was great as it was only 6 minutes from the campus which was helpful given that we had a 9am tour.
We ate dinner at the Madrone Brick fire place pizza place which was delicious. The cooking of the pizzas was slow but we enjoyed out family time together and they were fantastic when they came, so plan on having time to visit with your family or friends. It's worth the wait! We then went to the homemade Ice cream shop in town by the bay.

Beautiful town! Great marketplace on Saturdays.
Beautiful town! Great marketplace on Saturdays. People are super friendly. Laid-back chill vibe. There's a restaurant right next to the Ramada called Tony's. That's open 24 hours and their food is excellent

The beaches are amazing.
The beaches are amazing. I wish we had time to go through the Avenue of the Giants. We focused on the ocean and the shops. Lots of eclectic art and jewelry. There are certain areas to avoid due to vagrants.

Arcata is close to many wonderful side trips.
Arcata is close to many wonderful side trips. It has a vibrant Saturday farmer's market. Interesting shops on the square and a great co-op. Otherwise it's run down and best used as a home base for exploring the area.

The area seems to be experiencing a recessive state, homeless people everywhere, very few places to eat, many places shut down. It's right off the freeway up the coast and close to the ocean....it just seems run-down.
Breakfast was satisfactory Bathroom was really small, no towel racks so hung them in the closet, dispensers were empty, toilet roll was mostly empty upon arrival so I had to go to the office to get more. This is a very old hotel. Overpriced but this time of year they all are.
Everything! Everything was so carefully thought out and the room was sooo cozy and had everything I needed. The bed is reallyyy comfy and I slept so well. The breakfast was delicious!! Everything felt like home, I’d definitely be back again if I’m back in Arcata!
