Appomattox is a historical location, there are so many civil war sites to visit. I went because of work related event with 4-H. I was at Holiday Lake for two days another great place to go to enjoy hiking canoeing, camping.

The Main Street district boasts a couple shops and a nice restaurant. The visitors center was undergoing renovation. The Civil War Museum is private, there is a fee, and is well done. Nice gift shop. Nice restrooms. The Battlefield and McLean House and adjacent buildings had a couple docents on site, was well maintained.

The attractions were very good, lots of information.
Only took a few hours to see everything.
The town itself has very little. A few shops, eateries and fast food places.
I think one day would be sufficient to see everything.
The hotel, The Inn at Appomattox was very nice.
Clean, comfortable, nice breakfast, staff very friendly and answered any local questions we asked.

Well worth the visit—we all need to learn more about our history. Site of General Lee’s surrender to General Grant during the civil war and its beginning of the end of the war. Park ranger talk and film were excellent

An excellent destination for Americana well known for its moment in history. Excellent for history buffs and those interested in learning more about the country's history. Especially since Appomattox is one of the reasons for the country we are today.

The Covid virus caused many of the local tours, businesses and shops to close and the extreme heat prohibited us from walking about too much to the ones that were open , so we spent a lot of time at the hotel. We ate our takeout food in the lobby, swam, lounged around the pool, and played card games in the comfortable cool lobby and got an occasional drink from the bar. It was all very relaxing and the staff was friendly, courteous and always on hand to assist in everyway. The Civil war museum was very informative and easy to get around in a wheelchair and had plenty of places to sit. We got food from the Taco Wagon and it was the best Spanish food ever! Better than Chipotle! Wish we had one here! Getting around town was easy and the foliage was beautiful.

Location was great - close to the Park at Appomattox - reason for visiting. Breakfast was good - lot of choices and food was warm. The "cook" does a great job. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
Room 224 had an ant infestation. We didn’t bother to report it because the entire hotel was visibly booked the entire weekend. I wouldn’t recommend staying at the Appomattox Inn & Suites.
