It's a beautiful site and location. It could use some updates, but the facilities were very can, breakfast was good for the value, and the staff was very courteous and helpful. It's a great find, and we'll go back!

A nice scenic city with lots to do.
A nice scenic city with lots to do. We went to the botanical garden; I highly recommend that, as it is low-cost, and a nice walk. The city also has a multitude of steak houses, as expected for a city in Texas. We ate at the Saltgrass steakhouse. It was delicious.

The listing should clearly indicate that a multi-level hotel has no elevator requiring the self transport of luggage up stairs and down the hall to room.
Had we known we would have booked a room on the ground floor.

You have to understand Amarillo before arriving there.
You have to understand Amarillo before arriving there. This is an oil town so that's how this city will smell. It was very apparent as we walked in the city.
Outside of that, the people were very friendly and the Mayor even came out to visit us and express his thanks for our group visiting Amarillo.

Amarillo has everything you could ask for, good places to...
Amarillo has everything you could ask for, good places to stay and alot of good places to eat, shopping and entertainment, we have stayed at the cactus cove inn many times when it was under other names. We like to go to the bar and have fun and dance, its convenient we dont have to leave , we can walk to our room. I would definitely reccommend staying here, it is so pretty!!!
Nothing. The rooms were old and filthy. The place smells bad. The room and hotel is in poor repair. The breakfast was poor and cheaply done. Only one waffle maker serving a 5 storey building. Huge line ups just to make a waffle. Which is the only hot item. Hotel is terrible. Nothing worth noting. Will never recommend.
Hotel is very modern and well decorated. Room was very spacious, clean and tidy - enough room to leave our suitcases open. Breakfast was brilliant, with a Texas state shaped waffle machine which was greatly appreciated!
The bed was massive and super comfortable. Also, the view from our room on the 8th floor was spectacular. The hotel was in one of the most historical buildings of Amarillo.
Very helpful staff. They always try to find solution to my problems. Very friendly too.
