Nice rooms, good beds. Breakfast with cardboard plates and plastic cutlery, problematic in today's world. But the food was nice, they even had pancakes and omelettes. The lodge is situated along the main highway, so it tends to be noisy until about 11pm and from 7am, but okay during the night. You may watch out - the lodge has no restaurant and the local joints tend to close at 8 pm (!!!), so you only get Burger King until 11 pm.
Featuring mountain views, Townhomes on the Green in Afton provides accommodation, a garden and barbecue facilities. Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace.
Providing free WiFi throughout the property, Swiss Mountain Motel is located in Thayne.

Swiss Mountain Motel is a decent option for a budget-friendly stay. The motel was peaceful and quiet atmosphere. The rooms were clean and basic, with comfortable beds.
The location was ok, obviously in the region you have to drive to get to restaurants etc. but Jackson and Teton are within and hour or so but staying here you don't pay the extortionate prices.
Swiss Mountain Motel is a suitable choice for travellers on a budget who prioritise a quiet and clean environment.

I believe Afton is not much more of a drive from Yellowstone's south entrance than Cody is from the east entrance. The value of this booking for the money is far better than places I viewed in Cody. Afton is a small town, but has all I needed.

Star Valley is a very beautiful place with very friendly people.
Afton seems pretty depressed like it is struggling to make ends meet.
Most of the food was sub par and over priced.
Service was hit and miss. One restaurant (Fathum?) was dreadful in both service and quality of the food. The so called "ham steak" they served for breakfast looked like it had been sitting around for weeks and was very difficult to even cut with a knife.
Not only disappointing but rather disgusting.
Colter's Lodge had a much better breakfast.
I think overall Afton has problems.

Had breakfast at the Salt River Grill, scrambled eggs and bacon were good but pancakes and home fries were terrible. The restaurant was clean and had lots of Windows. Friendliness could use some improvement!
I only spend an evening there so the only thing I saw in the morning was old closed buildings and closed storefronts.
The Sinclair gas station had no water to wash windshields. Must prepay to pump gas.

The people were friendly.
The people were friendly. Visited Broulims, Ace Hardware, Red Baron and Rocky Mtn. Seafood. All personnel were friendly and treated me with resp0ect. All of them were very busy, but were very pleasant to work with.

Loved Townhome on the Green.
Loved Townhome on the Green. Clean, newer, good location in town. Beds comfy. Hiked the intermittent Springs, beautiful! Ate at Agava Mexican food. Give it a 7 but the salsa and cabbage salsa that came out with the chips was delish! Cute little town💜

When I booked the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott I didn't see online that breakfast was offered. Upon arrival I was shown where and when to pick up the breakfast sandwiches to go were. Much better than what we would have gotten at the Burger King across the street.
You ask if I'll stay there again....the answer is YES without a doubt.
It seems that we were the only ones not pulling a snowmobile trailer on the night of our stay....great snow and places to ride in and around Afton. (Star Valley) I have ridden some of these places with my in-laws.
