Gorilla Leisure Lodge totally blew me away. If you’re heading to Bwindi for trekking, this place is it—don’t look any further. I’ve traveled around Uganda before, and this was definitely one of my top stays. The quality of the lodge is way beyond what you'd expect for the price. Everything was new and spotless, the food was delicious, and the overall value is unbeatable. A huge shoutout to Madinah and the rest of the team—the people at Gorilla Leisure Lodge are among the kindest I’ve ever met. They went out of their way to make sure I was smiling from start to finish. We went gorilla trekking at Rushaga gate (amazing!) and the lodge is just a 15-minute drive away. Unlike some who have to wake up at 4 AM to drive an hour and a half on rough roads, you’re super close to everything here. Gorilla Leisure Lodge is a hidden gem thats only 15 minutes away from the gate. My only regret is that we stayed just one night. It would have been perfect to return after trekking and unwind on the porch with the beautiful mountain views. I would have loved to see the sunset and soak up more of the lodge’s serenity. Gorilla Leisure Lodge is top-notch, and the warmth of the team makes you feel right at home. I’ve already recommended it to my family, and I’d definitely come back in a heartbeat!

Everything was absolutely amazing. The staff (especially Jennifer who took care of us during our 3 nights stay), the food, and facilities. Our bungalow was very comfortable. Highly recommended!

The owner Ivan and all staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed the nature walk with him, and I appreciated the “brown porridge with honey” when my stomach was acting up (it worked!). He helped us immensely with our Uganda trip planning by providing many invaluable logistical tips.

We had really great time in Agape house.
Gideon and Ester let you feel at home, they are helpful, peaceful and very cooperative.
Their son, Edward is amazing. He has helped us organizing trips around and had also joined us.
The site he manages, the zipplinings, is great.
We'd love to return.

We visited first the Ruhija sector where we stayed in the Ruhija gorilla lodge which we did not enjoy. The gorillatreck however was an experience we will never forget. After one day we drove to Rushaga where we spend another night and we were lucky we could arrange last minute permits for the gorillatreck in this part of Bwindi. A whole different experience. We are very glade we did this. Here we stayed in the Rushaga gorilla camp which is very lovely. The restaurant is less cosy, food just Ok and the shop far to expensive but the vieuws, location and chalets make it worth staying here.
