Meremeta Lodge was great. The rooms were clean, cool from AC, and the water hot! Most of all the staff was incredible. They take pride in ensuring that the food is delicious and the experience is exceptional. They arranged daily transport to the dive shop, tours to other areas of the island. When I didn’t prefer the meat as the main dish the cooked chicken instead. I asked if they served it on the island as I had a suspicion they didn’t. As a result, they had plenty of Coke Zero purchased ahead time for me
I highly recommend Meremeta Lodge and if I return, I will definitely be staying with them.

Such a unique and beautiful place to stay on a solo trip! I was in the Moja treehouse and woke up to fresh coffee and the sound of birds every morning.
They also helped me organize excursions every day! Went diving in Mafia's Marine Park which was some of the best diving I've ever done, had lunch on a beautiful sandbank that I had all to myself, visited the Blue Lagoon and swam with the jellyfish, and hung out in my treehouse for some much needed me-time. It was the perfect place to unwind, relax, and reconnect with nature. The food was also so delicious! They set up dinner in a different place on the island every night and really made it a special experience for me. Nice private hot outdoor shower after your excursions, and the staff are incredibly friendly.
This place also has an amazing sunset view and a bar with delicious drinks. And at night, the stars... just wow! Most stars I've ever seen in my life!! This place is such a hidden gem and I enjoyed every minute of my time here.

The staff was amazing, very hospitable and took care of everything.
Breakfast and dinner was great, they have a really great chef and attentive personnel.
They also rented us bikes for free, such that we could drive to the dive shop (~10 minutes by bike).

Some nice different options for various tours in the marine park. Not really a beach there, and the little sand available is occupied by working fisherman; either side is mangrove. There is a sandbar further out you can visit. Better to stay outside to avoid the marine fees and only pay them when you need to enter it as nicer beaches elsewhere.

Utende is a very nice place taking into account that the coast is a marine reserve. Although it’s not fair to pay the park fee just to go to the village or even to stay in a hotel that is outside the gate. Best activities I did were scuba diving and chole/juani island tour
