The Mizingani Seafront Hotel is located right on the Stone Town waterfront, just mere minutes from Forodhani Gardens and the ferry terminal. It is a fantastic property oozing with character and old-world charm. At the same time, all modern conveniences are present, such as wi-fi. The staff are also friendly and kind and took good care of us. We enjoyed the lavish breakfast spread and the many items to try each morning. Overall, this is a solid property for getting a feel of the magic of Stone Town.

Had a wonderful stay at the Zanzibar Palace Hotel. It is a converted historic building. The room was large, clean, and had great air conditioning (which we needed as we were not used to such warm/humid weather). Daniela kept many of the historic elements of the building (wait until you see the locks on the doors…we loved it). They had made to order breakfast (along with cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc.). The staff were all very friendly, helpful and attentive (Iddi, Lulu, Elizabeth, Roderick, and Jamila). The hotel organized a walking tour of Stone Town and the guide, Khasim, was very friendly, thorough and knowledgeable. Everything in Stone Town is close to the hotel. We enjoyed walking along the water in the evenings as there was so much going on. Great stay.
