Convenient location by the bus stop for when you arrive / leave by bus instead of the teain. Also the trailhead for the Logging Track was just next door. The staff were kind and helpful with buses, donuts and more! The TV had several movie channels with original audio (!!) which was great since theres nothing to do in town after dark but to catch a movie at 21 - in bed.

Also you cannot beat the location it is inside Alishan National Park, so in the morning you can start your hike straight from the hotel. Reception spoke English.

Good location in the Alishan Reacreation Area, the hotel is run by a friendly man. Comfortable room, there is a bed warmer and more than enough hot water. Pretty clean and spacious, every basic thing that you need in a hotel, you will have. A big plus was the bathtub, very nice to relax in after coming back from the cold weather outside.
