Good location for being quiet, but very few restaurants nearby. Had to drive to Xincheng (not walkable). Friendly and helpful management. Good communication in advance that Taroko Park closed for extended time due to earthquake road and trail damage.

This is a great place to stop off before tackling the Suhua highway portion of the Huan Dao from the south, since it's so close to the first tunnel. Has everything I needed: Washers, drying spaces, places to store my bike, water, well-organized space. It's not as glitzy as a big city hostel, but owners are friendly and it's well-run.
