The breakfast was very good but not excellent. There were many options. However, the quality was for group travelers. Many options also were for dinner. Unfortunately, it was too late (starting from 7:00 p.m.) for us. The room was big and comfortable with necessary facilities. And the bigger than queen-sized bed was very nice.
I would add one positive image from their service. Since I checked my credit card payment through the bank account and found the payment was not done. I called the hotel and requested their confirmation about my payment. A lady from their service office or accounting department called me back with much help.

Good deals as the city and region (let alone Taiwan) is struggling for tourists. People are very friendly, region is pretty. You'll want to rent a motorbike, car, bicycle, or be aware of your options. Trains and buses are better than my home country of Canada, but that's not saying much.
Explore outside the city, as this is where the beauty is. Lots of hikes, history, and people to meet, but you have to get outside your comfort zone to do so.

Different vibe than Taipei - seems really nice chill place but my stay in Hualien was too short to give more details. Found a nice place for breakfast, night market, a promenade, good connection with Taroko Park, great connection thanks to train station with various other locations in Taiwan

A small and beautiful city. There are lots of nice small restaurants providing authentic local food, which is fresh and tastes so good.
People here are very nice!
If you need to rent a car, make sure you have international driving permit. Otherwise you are not allowed to rent a car.
Taroko national park is a must visit attraction . It is amazing !

Initially the hotel indicated that we need to bring all personal towel and cleaning items eg. shampoo conditioner soap and toothpaste etc etc but we found they provided everything when we got there. It's so easy get around in Hualien there are lots of buses.

The Taroko Gorge was quite a site to behold.
The Taroko Gorge was quite a site to behold. We had a private TourGuide, Allen, who was full of great historical knowledge not only of Taiwan, but of the Taroko people. We also took the opportunity to go river rafting and were able to do a shrimp, catching and nighttime barbecue, which was delicious!

Hualien is easily accessible by train from small or major cities, either with the express or local trains. It is also a great starting point to discover the central east cost, with wonders like Taroko gorge and Walami trail.
In the city, the Dongdamen night market is worth spending a few evenings.

The room was very clean and it's a great location. You're at the perfect place to get everything you need, very close to the train station, with convenience stores and many restaurants within walking distance. The bed was comfortable, and our room had a massive shower with great water pressure and a huge Smart TV with all kinds of streaming services. In terms of quality of the room for the money, as Taiwan is notoriously expensive for lodgings, my girlfriend and I both found it quite nice.

I've stayed in 9 places so far in Taiwan & this one has the best bed. The rest have been acceptably hard or worse. This one had some softness about it.
this accommodation was one of the cleanest one on our trip to Taiwan. the room is like on the pictures. We enjoyed the quietness of the neighborhood. The owner was a bit shy due due to the language issue but very helpful and attentive.
