The property is close to the Old Street, just be aware when it say 300 meters away from the market it is steep steps down and backup. Nice size room and clean. Very good free wifi connection.

Jiufen, specifically the Old Street area, is no doubt a touristy area. My husband and I had a lot of fun trying the different food and snacks and walking through Old Street and seeing all the lanterns lit up. The morning mist added a little magic to the place. We opted to stay overnight so we can enjoy the village after the tour groups have left during the evening and before they arrived in the morning. Would recommend anyone to do the same. You get to see the charm of Old Street and the village when the crowds are gone. The view of the mountains and sea from the village was breathtaking. It was a great way to slow down after spending time in Taipei.

I went to visit the mining sights and its related history. I enjoyed the scenic views. As a photography enthusiast I took a lot of average photos as I am not a good photographer. But I like to take a lot photos. Old Jiufen Street was very busy with many tourists and a lot of things to buy and eat. I like walking through the neighborhoods to see how the locals live.

Jiufen is quite old, this place still fully preserves the old architecture. It's simple but no less poetic and romantic. In addition, Jiufen has ancient streets, along with many of cafe shops, tea shops, beer bars and traditional food stalls. And at least, you should stay one day in Jiufen to watch the sunset and walk on the old roads in the early morning. Your best bet is to stay at B&B H&Jiufen Mountain View, which bring friendly and comfortable.

The breakfast was quite minimimalistic - not even a cup of coffee was available. I wouldnt call it a bed an breakfast, more like a bed and snack.
The directions were a bit confusing to find the place, perhaps the owner could send these in English and in a separat Document. The Chinese and English directions were together and thus very confusing.
Otherwise a nice room.

I would have rated this a 10 for stay if it was just a tad easier to locate. In saying that, once the property was located, the location was perfect. Host was lovely and highly recommend this place. A very cosy, clean and comfortable stay.

Distance to Jiufen night market is about 1--15minutes walk with street lights along the way, and the owner of hotel provided us clear direction as well.
