We recently stayed for one night at Pikan Ephesus Boutique Hotel in Selçuk, İzmir, and had a fantastic experience. The hotel has just opened, so everything is new and impeccably clean. The room was comfortable and beautifully designed, with modern amenities and a cozy atmosphere.
The bathroom was spotless, equipped with a great shower and stylish fixtures. The bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. The outdoor area of the hotel is charming, with a lovely stone facade and well-maintained plants.
The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, going out of their way to make sure we had a pleasant stay. Their hospitality truly made a difference.
The hotel’s location is also excellent. It is near the Ephesus Archaeological Museum, which you can reach with a short walk, and it is easy to get to the ancient city of Ephesus as the hotel is in the center of Selçuk.

The apartment was very quiet, the balcony offered a view to remember fondly, the people in town so friendly and helpful. We ate twice at the favourite restaurant Ali recommended and we did not regret it. We travelled to Ephesus and selected the inclusive ticket which was 52 euros and it was worth every penny. Plan 4 to 5 hours, go as early as possible to avoid the crowds. We were there at 8:30 and the Firmin the parolier! By the time the crowds started we had walked the entire sight and avoided the heat.

We spent 3 days - one day in Selcuk ( there are 3 sites including Ephesus Museum worth one day) and one day doing Ephesus with a private guide( excellent and picked by the hote) and make sure you do the Terraces( many tours don't include it) and finally you can do 3 amazing sites 1-2 hours away - Piriene, Milietus and Didyma ( very few people do this but worth it). The hotel staff can help you

Smaller and less touristy with locals attentive to your need and willingness to help. Ephesus Archeological Park was the highlight of the visit. There is no dearth of choices for eating - from local Turkish dishes to Burger King. Selchuk is more convenient to stay as beginning from morning you can at your leisurely pace cover St John's Basilica, Artemis Temple, Ephesus Archeological Park and Virgin Mary's House all in one day.

we stayed in Sirince.
we stayed in Sirince. An antique village in the mountains outside of Selcuk. A 19th Century experience in small town Turkey. Bring good shoes for steep hills and uneven ground. Good natural foods from local farms. Expect an authentic experience.

I’m not sure why anyone from away would come to Selcuk...
I’m not sure why anyone from away would come to Selcuk unless they were there to see the antique ruins of Ephesus. That is certainly why we came. If you are in Turkey- I suggest it is a must see.
Ephesus is one of the most excavated sites in the world. It is humbling to see how much as a civilized culture we have forgotten- or forgot and have had to rediscover over the millenniums.
That said, Selcuk had decent dining options, and other attractions like the Ephesus Museum (where the artifacts are housed), and the Saint John Basilica which are fantastic. Both are blocks from the Akanthus hotel (which I reviewed separately and highly recommend .

Lovely town, the people were very friendly and helpful.
Lovely town, the people were very friendly and helpful. Easy to go around. Saturday has a fruit/veg, utensils market behind the bus station. Bus station in the centre of the town. Nice restaurants and good food and prices.
Urkmez is not a hotel. Its a home away from home. It was my last place to stay in turkey and what a surprise gift. I enjoyed the hospitality of Urkmez family and by the end of stay I was part of the family. Great breakfast, neat and clean room, very strong wi fi connection. Above all a warm welcome, every time I came back from my daily tour.
I will miss them. Each one of them. My good wishes to urkmez family.
We loved staying at ANZ Guest House. Harry and his son were fantastic hosts. The location was perfect, near restaurants, buses to Ephesus and the train station. The room was basic but met all of our expectations. Oh, and of course the included breakfast was awesome! We'll definitely be telling our friends to stay here when they visit Turkey.
I wouldn't even look anywhere else for a place to say in Selcuk. Whole hotel was clean and our room had a stunning rooftop patio, and the most comfortable bed we experienced on our Turkey adventure. The owner was warm, lovely and super helpful in helping us organize our time there. Would definitely come back next time in Selcuk!
Room was quiet, clean and comfortable, probably the only hotel we stayed in Turkey where we didn't get woken up by the call to prayer! Lots of street parking available. Nice breakfast on the terrace and a friendly dog.
Great location ame very near of all attracrions in Selçuk. Nicely built with great charm ! The hotel Assistants are very kind and take care of you in the best way possible !
