Very warm owners, generous with accommodations and little extras. Baklava and tea when we first arrived, a glass of wine and a snack when we returned from a long day of touring were so welcoming. They also have some lovely Turkish items — no hard sell, just there to admire and consider. Beautifully decorated place.

Room was clean and comfortable. Booked with a cheap price. One day is enough to explore the place so you don’t need to stay for expensive/luxurious hotel. The owner drove us to the top gate of Hierapolis and instructed where to go and how to get back to hotel for shortcut. From travertines it just took 5 minutes walk to hotel. He doesn’t take advantage of tourists and even warned us for scams. The bus who brought us from Denizli to Pamukkale took us to their agency directly and offered us tour which is pricey. Better directly purchase tickets to entrance gates. For hot air balloons, the hotel owner can book it also. They also offer meals with reasonable price and it’s very delicious, freshly cooked.

Pamukkale is a must for its unique beauty in its natural deposits of the calcite Travertines, but also for its ancient Greek ruins in the adjacent site of Hieropolis, which includes a fifteen-thousand seat theatre with stage and skene (or backdrop) both intact, as if the ancient actors were about to take the stage. Below the theatre, the white mineral deposits of the Travertines stretch down the hill like an avalanche of stone, while the valley below the town extends for miles toward a distant mountain range, barely visible in the mist.

We primarily came to see ancient ruins of Hierapolis which was fascinating but also enjoyed Pamukkale - although 20 years ago when we first visited we could walk over much more of it.
We managed to book the balloon ride well ahead, at the time of booking hotel. Balloon ride was a great plus to our stay here.
Good selection of small restaurants in a ~pedestrian street in Pamukkale.
If you want to see more of these ancient cities historical sites, Laodicea is only a short trip away (and much cheaper than Pamukkale entrance fee).

Pamukkale is undeniably centered around its great wonder, the thermal pools, which are truly a sight to behold. However, the town and surrounding area seem to have been developed in the 1970s and have not seen significant updates since then. Every restaurant, hotel, and attraction feels like a relic from that era, which might appeal to some but felt quite dated to me. Additionally, I found the locals to be less warm and friendly than expected, with a noticeable focus on making money rather than genuinely caring for their guests. While the thermal pools are a must-see, the overall experience in Pamukkale could benefit from some modernization and a more hospitable atmosphere.

I first went to Pamukkale in 1990 and I can not remember having to pay to get in only having to pay to get into the Roman Baths, which you now pay extra to swim in. I also remember that you could pretty much go wherever you wanted, sitting in the pools.
Now it is £30 to get in and the water has been diverted away from the natural pools to help keep people away. The only pools you can access are man made on the slope from the entrance or exit to town.
We had however, came for the hot air balloons which were excellent and I highly recommend.

Also had a great Turkish breakfast at a small cafe next to the tour office. Everyone was so friendly, I would highly recommend a visit

The best hotel in current trip in Turkey and cheapest at the same time.
It's quiet, clean, quite big room, everything works and in good condition, including hot water under good pressure even in the morning. And 27 euro per night. I was going around by car and in most places (including not touristy) the best options were much worse and 40+ euro for a couple.
And internet was working very good, much better than in other places, yet it's not a peak season.
The host and his wife are very friendly. They did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms were super clean, spacious and quiet during the night. The location is excellent as it is 2 minutes walking from the Pamukkale city center and about 5 minutes driving from the thermal waters.
We were served home-made breakfast in our room which was just the best we during our trip in Turkey.
Family owned hotel. Breakfast was great, home made meals cooked by grandma :) We also had dinner in the hotel, affordable prices and very tasty meals. The location is great, very close to the entrances to Pamukkale travertine pools
Friendly staff. They helped to arrange hot air balloon and to answer our questions about Turkey, culture, what to do, where to go, etc
the hotel was excellent. the rooms were spacious and the bathroom was modern and clean. the pool area was great as a break from the heat (& we were allowed to use it after check out which was amazing). best breakfast we’ve had in Turkey - extensive buffet! and a super cute puppy made the stay for us.
Pool was great. Beds were comfortable. Decent size. Bathroom basic but perfectly fine. Breakfast was basic but that’s pretty standard for midrange hotels in Turkey. The family owners were lovely and the position an easy walk to food and attractions
