I was sceptical about the hotel after reading the reviews but I have to say that I had a comfortable stay overall. The staff were very helpful (especially Okan, the hotel manager and and the housekeeper), helping with our luggage and providing a kettle, cutlery, bowls and whatever else we needed. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Fresh towels were available when required. The location is ideal - right in the centre of the Old Town.

First of all I have to start with the spectacular hospitality of the hotel stuff, the first moment we arrived they have already made warmed up the room for us, room is big and has enough water to drink, hot water and all the facilities you will need, tv is connected to WiFi.
The hotel is in the middle of the old town everything is near by restaurants cafe, hamam all the attractions you need to see are just few minutes walk also they are providing a map for you to see what a tourist needs to see.
The breakfast is a traditional Mardini breakfast but without exaggeration the taste is different than all the other breakfasts really, while enjoying it the manager came who speaks more than 5 languages came and he explained a lot of things about Mardin and gave information about the hotel which is more than 1100 years, what a historical place we stayed in.
Come and bring your loved ones, highly recommended I will definitely come back again.

The old town is quite charming.
The old town is quite charming. The highlight for us were the ancient churches so beautifully maintained/restored and that Arabs, Kurds and the very small Christian minority live together harmoniously. Everyone seemed so gracious and kind.

A beautiful town, completely different from the Turkiye known by those who visit the coast. Kurdish, not Turkish, with Christian buildings going back to the fourth century and a culture that encompasses many religions and languages. A good base for a day trip (with guide) to Midyat and other local sites. Plenty of restaurants, serving wide variety of foods. Wine shops, selling local wines, but no bars in the old town.
Really wish we had read more before going. Pictures show the beautiful pale-coloured buildings climbing up the hillside but not the fact that the 'roads' are more often steps. Wonderful small narrow streets, a copper bazaar where people were at work, incredible churches, mosques and madrasas - but you need to have good hips and knees!
An excellent Hamam, open for men mornings and evenings, for women in the afternoons.
For anyone interested in early Christianity, in cultural melting pots, or in somewhere unlike most tourist towns, Mardin and Midyat, and the necropolis at Dara, the area is exceptional. Allow about four days and bring sensible shoes.
Good and cheap bus service from the airport, no need to use taxis.

This was the second time to visit Mardin, this time during a small road trip. Mardin is a place were you don not see Western people. Please do not mention it, otherwise it will ruined as other old citys. Atmosfere specicial on the market is like 200years old. Views are amazing, and most important the people.

Mardin old town is a remarkable destination - fabulous architecture, great shopping, many wonderful restaurants, and world renown historic sites nearby. We stayed at Fairouz Konak Otel, which we would highly recommend - it is a historic building in the heart of Mardin old town, within easy walking distance of many restaurants and stores, We were welcomed by our thoughtful host with delicious offerings of food and drink; he was able to answer all our questions about his city. The hotel was memorable for its charming rooms, fantastic panoramic views from many terraces, delicious breakfasts, and excellent host and staff, We highly recommend a visit to Mardin and a stay at Fairouz Konak Otel!

We were on a vacation with my wife and Ana Talia was a great place to stay. Very close to the city center in Mardin. The family staff was very lovely and helpful and they made our stay way more enjoyable. The breakfast was traditional one from Mardin and the family prepared it directly for us. We would like to thank everyone specially Islam and Tufan for they lovely hospitality and we would definitely be staying there again next time.
Welcome to the fairy tale, that was our first feeling. After climbing so many steps and looking for a hotel in narrow streets, we have found a gem, with amazing Mezopotamia views, elegant doves, large rooms, very friendly and helful owner. That were our first bathrooms in Turkey, where the sinks didnt badly stink. We even spent one night under the night sky on the big outside beds - beautiful experience.
The staff were very nice, they helped us with parking and moving our luggage. Also the breakfast was very good. The location is very central and close to all of Mardin’s main highlights.
