Fantastic location, just past the entrance to the Sousse medina and within walking distance to the city beach, train station, cafes and small shops outside the medina. Strongly recommend staying on the medina side of town if you don't want to be in the thick of the tourist resorts further north along the beaches. The immediate access to the medina is just so convenient, plus easy to get taxis and the louage stations are close by too.
Room was small but big enough for bags and sleeping - we booked the room with an ensuite. Heating/aircon unit in the room was useful. Clean property in general. Shared spaces are lovely, especially the upstairs terrace areas.
Friendly staff across all shifts (it's a 24-hour reception), super helpful with any questions - be it about the room or travels/sights around Sousse.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly those on reception. They helped to fulfil all of our requests. For example, we had two separate bookings and went on a trip in between and they stored our luggage for us.
I also liked the room, including the bathroom. Good choice of channels on the TV and excellent facilities elsewhere in the hotel.

2 to 3 days is enough. The constant scammers are quite annoying. Taxi's are cheap but insist it is a meter journey and sit in the front to see the fare. Cafes are good but check your menu vs bill. Local places are better than touristy places. Not so nice looking but a better more genuine experience.

We really liked the historic part of town - the Ribat is beautiful (with a great guide!). The archaeology museum is definitely worth a visit. The souk was an enjoyable pace and you didn't feel hassled. The restaurants were good. Taxis were cheap and easy to find.
City could do with a big clean up and shows clear signs of suffering financially, but that didn't take away from our trip.

I found Sousse to be a great place to visit if you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing vacation. I was pleased to discover that the local people were friendly and welcoming, which made my trip more enjoyable and memorable.
One of the highlights of my trip was having a hire car, which allowed me to explore the surrounding areas and discover hidden gems such as the castle. It was fascinating to learn that the castle was the location for the popular movie Monty Python's Life of Brian. This made my trip even more exciting and memorable.
However, it's worth noting that if you're looking for a bustling city with lots of activities to do and places to see, Sousse may not be the best choice. From my experience, Sousse is more of a laid-back destination where you can unwind and relax.
Overall, I had a positive experience visiting Sousse and enjoyed exploring the surrounding areas. Thank you for taking the time to read my review!

The area is beautiful.
The area is beautiful. There are so many activities to do there. The transportation system is excellent and very affordable. You can walk almost everywhere really, but if you are lazy like me, you can either use your phone to order a Bolt taxi or just flag one down on the road.

It is located in a excellent place, inside the Medina and in front of the mosque. We got a huge bedroom with balcony and private bathroom. The hotel was clean and calm, it was like a oasis in the middle of the Tunisian chaos.
The staff was really friendly and polite. I really recommend this places for couples, families or backpackers.
Good value for money. Fully recommended.
The hotel was excellent, amazing staff big shout out to receptionist Mounira who was great and also raouf who was really attentive at the restaurant and bar area. Would always recommend marhaba Beach. The room was big and spacious with a big balcony overlooking the beach, and the hotel was just fantastic. Defo be returning couldn't fault it.
Our stay was amazing, we had a really clean room and you could see that the owner puts a lot of love in his guesthouse. We even had cookies in our rooms with our names on it! The owner is super nice and gave us fantastic recommendations for our further trip in Tunisia. We would love to spend more time there!
