The room was alright for the price we paid (11eur a night) although booking showed a big paved window and we only got a tiny one. The hotel is pretty nicely laid out.
Booking advertises a kettle and a toaster. It is actually a communal kettle and the toaster remains to be found. Coffee and chocolate provided.

Nice location at river side, very quite area and nice garden but dry at this time of the year. Host very kind and rooms are very clean good size and a/c is perfect. Swimming Pool clean and good size.
No breakfast dining drinks available so you have to drive 2-3 km to nearest 7/11 to bring what you need.
But its a nice place so no thumbs down here.

We drove up to visit Wat Prathat Chaiya, and Pum Riang town, had a sumptuous seafood lunch at Pho cape, and explored the long coast towards the north. The beaches are long, beautiful, and undeveloped.
We also visited Ratchaprapa dam. The mountain water scenery is beautiful. A leisurely drive around the area is a pleasure.

We really liked Surat Thani.
We really liked Surat Thani. There is a well maintained waterfront , plenty of shops and restaurants and a really good night market with plenty of food stalls.
We went on a boat trip on a long tail boat on the river and through the canals which was interesting and good value.

Loved this laid back city.
Loved this laid back city. We went on the boat ride (1 hour) through the mangrove area and saw lots of monitor lizards. In the evening it's great to go to the night market and graze on delicious street food. The area next to the night ferry also fills up with food stalls and you can sit there for a meal and a beer and watch the world go by. Would definitely recommend staying here for at least a night. It feels like authentic thailand.

Not many good restaurants that we found. People not as friendly as other locations. Ate in the Craft Bistro one night which on first impressions looked awful but the food was really good. Also ate in the Riverside restaurant, slightly more expensive but food good and a band singing nice music. Again, people not overly friendly though.

Organising a taxi at the airport was shambolic - I ended up walking 5km to my hotel because the local taxi drivers did not want to take me as it was relatively close and therefore, not 'worth their while' - Make sure you prebook a bus, taxi, shuttle etc before you arrive.

We were on a bicycle trip from Singapore to Bangkok and always tried to find cute bungalow stays outside of busy cities in unaspiring hotel buildings... and Phetra Pool Villas was just that! Beautiful cozy rooms each with private pools with vistas overlooking the Bang Kluai river. From the bed you could see the longtail fishing boats lighting up the river as they passed by fishing. Truly breathtaking! And the reception as we arrived greeted with a Kiwi liqueur and breakfast in the morning brought directly to the room! Exceptional!!!
We needed a place to stay overnight in Surat Thani on the way from Bangkok to the islands and this hotel was everything you could need and more. Very clean and comfortable rooms and the staff went out of their way to help us arrange long distance transport, even though it was very last minute. Good breakfast was included. We booked it twice on separate occasions :)
Very nice hotel 15 minutes away from the airport. They offered a transfer to the airport for 150 bath. The accommodation is also having a small restaurant which might be a very good alternative in the case you don't want to get too far away.
I spent one night in surat thani before continuing my journey to koh samui. Hotel in the city center. Structure clean as the room .. friendly and helpful staff, for a short stay it is perfect. Unbeatable value for money.
