Very nice,new hotel in an exceptional position with great views over the Mekong. They had cycles we could use and the ride along the Mekong into town was lovely. Staff very helpful and attentive, overall a lovely place to stay !!

Charming town on the banks of the Mekong river with views of Laos on the other side. Lots of decent coffee shops and restaurants, river trips available in the evening. Only real downside is the long drive from Bangkok, although there is an airport and this might be a better option next time !

Nakhon Phanom is a quiet city but it has a beautiful ambiance. There is a public park adjacent to the Mekong River, and looking across you can see beautiful hills. The atmosphere is very pleasant. There are numerous temples where you can pay respects according to your birth date. If you rent or drive a car, you can easily drive around to each location. It's a place to visit and relax. In conclusion, Nakhon Phanom doesn't have many tourist attractions but it has a great ambiance.

Nakhon Phanom is a very good place to visit.
Nakhon Phanom is a very good place to visit. My 1-day trip includes Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh's House and the long walk from St. Anna Nong Saeng Church, Vietnamese Memorial Clock Tower, Market near Naga Monument and Walking Path along Mekong River. Many food trucks park along the Walking Path that you can eat local food with a good view of the river. There is the annual festival to worship the Naga Deity starting from the 7th day of 7th month (July) for 7 days and 7 nights. You can enjoy cultural events, food and market of local products. There are many more temples to visit before crossing the River to Laos.

Nice town off the typical tourist paths in Thailand with very friendly and pleasant atmosphere. We loved to run along the Mekong River in the morning with beautiful views of the river and the Wats along the river. The night market on Friday evening was huge and very nice.

Different atmospheric scenery and interesting architecture that you can touch and pamper yourself in any activities; shopping, eating, exercising along the river bank, pray and respect to temples and Naga statue. Moreover, Nakhon Phanom people are so friendly and positive thinking in welcoming tourists to their areas.

Nakhon phanom is a nice place to visit.
Nakhon phanom is a nice place to visit. Over the years of passing through to visit family I’ve noticed a big change for the better. Especially along the riverbank which is very well done. A good variety of hotels as well. It’s a friendly place and inexpensive. It’s easy to get around and not a problem to hire a car and drive yourself around. If you want to see real Thailand and not the tourist traps I recommend this as a place to visit, you will enjoy the experience.
I normally have 5 Basic criteria that l judge a hotel. 1. Cleanliness 2. Comfortable bed 3. Air Conditioner not noisy and effective 4. A good shower having hot water and plenty of pressure and 5. Not being disturbed by noisy neighbours in adjoining rooms. The SP Residence matched these criteria although the shower pressure was sometimes changeable, one moment just right, the next an increase in pressure and too cold.
Very good standard and quite large rooms. Friendly staff. Cleaning was good. Very good breakfast and nice selection of food and prepared meals. Spectacular topside pool with view towards Mekong River. Good location close to central Nakhon Phanom with several good restaurants within walking distance.
The hotel is nice and the location is good. The room is fairly comfortable. There are bicycles for guests to borrow. The hotel should definitely put more bicycles, though.
