We had a rather disappointing experience at Vimarn Kaew Resort in Chiang Mai.
Cons:
The receptionist girl was rude and unfriendly, barely glancing at us or greeting us. She should learn customer service basics.
Since the hotel is located outside the city center, it’s inconvenient to explore the city or other areas. The receptionist didn’t provide any assistance in arranging taxis or offering any advice on activities in Chiang Mai. Therefore we decided to go to the city and booked a tour. Since the hotel is out of town, they wouldn’t pick us up. The tour agency tried their best to arrange a private transfer for us and tried to organize something with the hotel but the receptionist didn’t pick up their call so we had to cancel the tour.
Also there’s no restaurant on-site (for dinner), so you’ll have to venture into the city. However, finding a taxi can be challenging and time consuming. Once again the hotel doesn’t offer any assistance, you have to deal with it on your own. To avoid this kind of inconvenience, I strongly recommend renting a bike or a car.
