Really enjoyed the breakfasts served at the restaurant on the beach. Very good choice with Thai & English menu. Delicious freshly cooked to order omelette or eggs etc..Plenty of fresh coffee , tea , juice & water. Also There was a fresh water machine outside the rooms on every floor providing free cold drinking water.

I loved the Andamania. It was a perfect place for relaxing, walking on the beach and swimming. The location is great - a very quiet beach with wide expanse and natural setting. The hotel is attractive with lovely gardens and a good sized pool. There is a large area with sun loungers and enough space for everyone, even in high season. The rooms are large - a little outdated but charming in their own way, and very comfortable. I would stay there again.

It is ideally placed where Krabi and Phuket are in an easy distance to drive to which we did
Also Chiew Larn Lake was wonderful
You can also visit Phangnga for all the small islands
Wash elephants in the stream
And the beaches from Nang Thong upwards are beautiful

The locals are lovely, there’s a really chilled vibe and it’s not as busy as somewhere like Phuket. A day trip to the Similan Islands was the highlight, and definitely a reason to come to Khao Lak. Otherwise though we didn’t find much to do locally, as the beaches weren’t very impressive (in terms of snorkelling there wasn’t any).

Khan Lak is great for a relaxing quiet holiday. It still has a busy area in town with bars and restaurants. Don’t go there if you want jet skis and similar, I personally found that more attractive about the beach. I was a solo traveler but saw many families and couples of all ages enjoying themselves on the beaches . I also enjoyed going to khaki Lak Muay Thai who cater for all ages(I’m 62) and a complete beginner but thier champions fighter coaches were excellent. They even cater for families, great enjoable exercise. I loved all the food in Khao Lak. If you fancy a change from Thai food there are all kinds of restaurants in town, Italian,Turkish,Indian etc. Personally I love Thai food and found a restaurant that cooked a regional style from Northern Thailand called”Issan” pronounced “ee san “ was a first for me and it was delicious. I loved my stay and loved the fact there was no raucous drunken louts to spoil the atmosphere of the town. I for one will be back as soon as possible.

Very nice restaurants. Recommend especially Takiang Restaurant on 26/77 Moo 5 Bangniang, Khuk Khak, Takuapa - a very nice environment and superb food!

We loved our visit to Khao Lak.
We loved our visit to Khao Lak. Highlights were the Khao Lak Elephant Sanctuary (which was our favorite day out) and Bang Niang Night Markets.
We ate a lot at the Kalima Resort because it was delicious but also ate at Mojo and Spinach. We saw a fire show at Kokulu Beach Club and went on a day trip to Khao Sok National Park.

If you choose facilities in this area of Khao Lak, we have to take into consideration that evening venue are limited; in this place you have to Mini markets and 3 small restaurants outside and on the beach there are some restaurants too. Party = 0. Beaches in Kl are for sure one of the best in thailand.
The rooms are very nice, I suggest to take a room with pool if you are with friends or family; the Ressort is new and staff is very friendly and for sure there English is far better than in other places
We had an excellent stay at this hotel for two weeks. The breakfast was great, and they offer gluten-free options for those with dietary restrictions. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the main street. The hotel staff were all incredibly friendly and polite. The room was cleaned daily and kept spotless, with the housekeeping staff doing a great job. We felt very well taken care of during our stay. I highly recommend this hotel if you're visiting Khao Lak.
This is my 3rd time staying at the Sands Khao Lake and every time I go I enjoy it more and more. The hotel has everything to offer.. restaurants, large pools, kids pools and even a lake to feed fish :) I took my Aunt here and her words were 'the best resort I have ever stayed at!' breakfast is great, as are the onsite bars and the staff can't do enough for you. Would absolutely recommend staying here.
