Staying in Centara Grand is not very convenient, as you have to depend on the shuttle boat service from N Pier to the resort. It limits the time you would possibly like to spend in Ao Nang or explore Krabi.

It is a beautiful beach and the sunsets are fantastic.
It is a beautiful beach and the sunsets are fantastic. There are fireshows in the evening, some of them free. The tide isn't too strong and the water is shallow and safe enough to swim. There are great bars and restaurants all along the beach.

IT IS AN EXCELLENT BEACH, ALMOST 2 KMs LONG. THERE ARE VERY GOOD RESTAURANTS (INCLUDING INDIAN RESTAURANTS) AND HOTELS OVERLOOKING THE BEACH. A VERY GOOD NIGHT MARKET AND EXCELLENT SHOPS FOR SHOPPING. I WILL CERTAINLY GO BACK AGAIN. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS BEACH TO ALL TRAVELLERS VISITING KRABI.

Ao Nang, as well as Railay beach, was a bit of a disappointment to us. Loads of people and loads of rubbish. We had never seen a beach that dirty before. Shame. You have to walk few km north to get nicer parts of the beach. The beautiful islands and their beaches close to the Ao Nang recovered our faith in holiday :-)

Ao nang beach is perhaps good to sun bathe but the water is dirty. The sewage from the town goes straight to the beach you can see rats roaming around the beach but there are other nearer beaches which are nicer and cleaner.
Hotels transporting their rubbish bags getting soaked in the water metres where people were swimming.
Railay beach is cleaner and excellent, you will need to get a 15 min boat ride from Ao Nang beach.
Plenty of restaurants to choose from but majority Indian food! But there are good authentic Thai food restaurants too.

I absolutely loved this hotel. The rooms are nicely decorated and the whole hotel looks very modern and clean.
The location was amazing, right on the main strip where all the bars, restaurants and shops are, and a few minutes walk to the beach. There is a public bus stop outside the hotel which can take you into Krabi Town and other destinations along the way such as the fossil beach, the tiger Cave and more.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I had the chance, and I didn't really want to leave.
The location was very good right in front of noppharat thara beach .. you can walk down to aaonang beach within 5 mins . Also it's very near to the pier to go for island hopping . The rooms were spacious and clean . Breakfast options were varied and good . The big Swimming pools were awesome .this was my Second time in krabi and both times I stayed here in the same hotel .
The cleanliness. As a group of 4 girls travelling when we arrived we were greeted with a smile, shown to our room immediately and we were shocked at how clean and beautiful and spacious the deluxe family suite was. The room was cleaned everyday, any request was greeted- we had our laundry done, we were given beach towels, genuinely gorgeous hotel with beautiful sunset.
hotel has 2 pools. they provide shuttle service to the beach. we also bought island hopping from them.much cheaper if compare to outside. staffs are very helpful. can speak basic english. if i come to krabi again i will still choose this hotel.
