Very nice, the location is perfect, right in the main square, with everything you need close by.
The staff was amazing, the room was generous and with everything you need.
Oh and the beds...Oh my God the beds. I have a back issue and I 've been in 5 star hotels that could not accommodate my issue. But these mattresses and pillows were exceptional.
We did not stay long so not much more to say.

I loved everything about this hotel, starting from the pleasant surprise of receiving a room upgrade, up to the room itself, which was large, clean, comfortable, and truly pleasant for our city break. There was a complimentary bottle of water, which was much appreciated - it is a small gesture which is sometimes forgotten at other hotels.
The people from the front desk were kind and attentive and made all efforts to sort out any situation.
I found the hotel to be indeed 4-star worthy. The breakfast was also varied and delicious, and the restaurant was fine as well - we enjoyed the dinner on the hotel terrace overlooking the city and the river.
This hotel is great for exploring the city - it is close to the old town, to the river promenade and also close to a large shopping mall across the river - for whoever is into holiday shopping 😊
It also has underground parking, which was great for us traveling by motorcycle.
Enjoying a picturesque location at the foothills of Pohorje close to ski slopes and surrounded by nature, Hotel Arena is a 10 minute drive from the center of Maribor.

Great room, spacious, very clean, there was a complementary small bottle of water in the room well received.
We arrived late around 1.35 Am, they have 24h reception open.
We stayed there one night 25-26 aug and returned on way back home 30-31 aug
second stay we had a great room large at 3rd floor
first night it was last room available in the attic, to small...but great bathroom :).
Great breakfast we enjoyed it only on first stay.
Second stay we slept, and we had late check out... really really appreciate it.
We will come back!

Just stopped for one night to break up a longer journey but...
Just stopped for one night to break up a longer journey but really enjoyed Maribor. Lovely old town and river bank with plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants. Ate in Baščaršija a super Balkan restaurant. Very busy but great food and great value so no surprise.
Will definitely go back for a few more days to some more exploring.

The city is clean with very good public transport infrastructure. Very pleasant trips to the surrounding area. Some prices higher than they would be considered to be appropriate, but that could be the result of the top holiday season wisit. Worth to visit.

Nice town, historic buildings. Local ice cream is excellent next to the old bridge. Main square is nice, lot of pubs, few restaurants. Drava river is beautiful! Need a bike to discover the town, as public transport is rare. There is a bike rental service (mbajk), good bikes for cheap price. Traffic is not high, but there were several young speedsters who squealed tires, it was not a safe feeling for pedestrians. I missed EN/DE translations on tables of services, you need google translate to understand even how to part the car or rent a bike. All in all, nice town, worth to spend there a long weekend.

The city is great! Small but has everything, very clean, friendly people, great places! In 4 months I visited it 3 times and I have already booked the next trip to Maribor. There is definitely something to see in each of the seasons!

I was not very impressed by Maribor.
I was not very impressed by Maribor. I had stopover here for one night during business trip. The historic center of the city is small, you can walk through it within an hour. Other parts of the city have typical socialist architecture from the time of Yugoslavia, which alternates with modern buildings. There are not many monuments or landmarks here. I definitely recommend visiting Ljubljana more if you choose cities in Slovenia to visit.
The villa is situated in a beautiful location on the edge of an impressive city park, but very close to the city center and its attractions. The place and its neighborhood are pleasantly quiet. The villa itself is an architectural treasure that has been renovated. The apartment is comfortable, spacious and equipped with everything you need even for a longer stay. Matej is a very friendly, open and helpful host. We lived here for a whole week and returned home rested, happy and full of good memories.
The staff is very kind. The room was clean, very spacey, and comfortable. The location is great being only a short walk to the old city. Pet friendly:) A lot of parking places right under the hotel (extra charge).
