This guest house in a hamlet above Kamnik was lovely, with a very peaceful outlook and fabulous views of the Kamnik Alps just a short walk away. Our host Mira was very welcoming, with a welcome drink, homemade strudel and lots of local tourist information. Our room was a good size and had a a 4 ring gas cooktop and a fridge so we could have easily self catered but instead ate in the restaurant where we had excellent traditional food , The included breakfast was amazing and huge,
Oh and the bed was extremely comfortable.

The location is amazing, our host was very polite and we also got some nice local food.
Most of the apartment was clean.
We really liked how they decorated the apartment as a whole, it gives off the "cabin in the mountains" vibe.

Very nice place, despite there isn't a real kitchen the host is very nice and there was good coffee, milk and even fruits, something I haven't seen at much more expensive places around the country.

Nice location, complete caravan with outside resting terrace with gas operated cooking plate and even a small sauna. The key was in the door and later the owner arrived to check us in from the house above. The caravan has 2 rooms with a living room in the middle. The owners had some beer and wine in stock for those who arrive without any spares. There are 2 restaurants within 5 kms of range but you can not walk to any nearby stores or bars.

We stayed in apartment C which is a lovely cabin with two platforms. The lower has great kitchen, dinning area and a wonderful shower. The upper platform has a giant bed with TV. There is air-conditioning in the property and a beautiful garden outside. Every thing is well designed whats made the staying very pleasant.
Also great shading by the windows curtains.
Well worth a visit if one is travelling about Slovenia.
Well worth a visit if one is travelling about Slovenia. It has a nice old style town and within easy car distance are some great walks in the higher mountains.
I suspect at busy times of the year and the school holidays in Europe Kamnik will be a busy place and booking early will pay dividends.

We came to Kamnik at the end of a two-week trip in Slovenia. We came mostly to see Velika Planina, which was worth it even if it was a cloudy, windy, and cold day up there. We stayed in Kamnik for two nights, leaving early in the morning to catch a flight on the last day. The Kamnik old town was very cool and fun to walk around for the old architecture. However, when we went (Fri-Sun in late September) almost no shops were open, which was frustrating because I could see cool handicrafts through the windows. The whole town honestly felt a bit deserted. In addition, there are very limited places to eat dinner in town.

The mountains are incredible, so different!
The mountains are incredible, so different! There's a nice historic town centre and all the villages around there are pretty and neat. You can take a cable car up the mountain which is definitely worth doing. It's so easy to get travel to anywhere you want from Kamnik so we were very happy we chose it as our base.

Charming small town, close to Ljubljana (easy access by train, bus or taxi) but handy for nearby spa and mountains. Several interesting museums. Some good bars and cafes, but evening eating options limited. Very helpful local tourist office.
Very friendly receptionist (owner?), he recommended us some hiking routes, helped navigate the neighbourhood and gave general tips regarding Kamnik and the area. Thanks for that!
Breakfast was really good. There's free parking at the property and a bar with nice selection of local craft beers and some food (their little pizzas saved us after we came back from the mountains and all the regular restaurants were closed). There's also a nice common area with tables and basic kitchen, good to hang around or work with laptop.
The location was a stone's throw from the city of Kamnik. Great as a central point to visit the area. We chose this location as a second choice. We were supposed to have a chalet on Valike Planina. Recent flooding in Slovenia washed out the road so we lost our deposit and the chalet. In a way I was glad since this place was excellent. It had a charm that was wonderful. We had a wonderful chat with Rok, who gave advice on the area. The whole family loved it.
The hotel didn't offer breakfast but it was possible to eat breakfast next to the hotel in a restaurant for €5. It was a really good breakfast. The hotel was very clean and there was a private bathroom. It was possible to arrive when you want after a call to the owner. It was possible to park the car in front of the hotel.
It is within the nature, surrounded by forest, very silent, only the sound of the birds and the nearby farm animals. And it is near Kamnik where you can explore the main sightseeing points of the region.
