Our host welcomed us in person upon our arrival and instructed us on accessing the apartment and parking. She also took the extra effort to ask if we would like recommendations for things to see in the area based on our itinerary. Her recommendations were thoughtful. She selected them based on our planned travel the next day so we could see some sights on the way to our next destination. If we had been staying longer in the Karst region, this would have been a great base location.

It was a quiet nice stylish apartment that was very clean and seemed newly renovated. It was close to the train and bus station and supermarket. Everything was good. I met good people around me and the Skochan Cave was also very cool. I will definitely stay again.

We stayed in the new section of the hotel and had a wonderful balcony view of the pool. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Breakfast had a great selection of fresh, healthy and delicious foods.

Divača is a quiet town/village on the railwy line between Ljubljana and Koper. It is very close to both Lipica and to skočjanske Jame. These caves are my favourites in Slovenia, although not to be visited if you have a problem walking.. The park surrounding the caves is very beautiful too.
Divača itself is quiet, but has a Cinema museum, which is popular with those interested in early silent films.
There area few trains three each day, and also a bus service during the week. Not at the weekend, however, as I found to my cost on another occasion when I drove a friend's car home for her - and then found there were no buses on Saturdays by which to travel back to the coast!, and the next train would have kept me late for my meeting. Luckily, there were others around to heading the same way.
While Skočjam and Lipica are open all year, there are also smaller caves in the area which are open only in the tourist season. To drive there from the coast takes about 30 minutes, and about the same driving time will take you to Postojna and the more famous caves there, or to Predjamskigrad, an amazing Castle , most of which is inside the mountain, hence its name - the castle in front of the cave.

Had a lovely in stay in this hostel conveniently located a 5min walk away from Skocjan Caves. The hostel serve also as a restaurant with fresh local products, dinner and breakfast were excellent and way beyond what you would expect from a hostel in terms of quality. The room was very clean and comfortable with ensuite bathroom. All the staff was very friendly and helpful, even drove me back to the Divača train station otherwise 45min walk away. Would highly recommend to anyone. Thanks again!
This is an old hotel with spacious triple rooms and very tired furniture and carpets. Limited choice for breakfast served in a cramped breakfast room, but surprisingly good food in the restaurant. The double room (at least no 1) is extremely small, plus under the roof. There was a storm during our stay and the noise that was coming through (the only) roof window made the room impossible to sleep in.
Nicely furnished small apartment with everything you need for your stay. The location is in the quiet village, which is great for peaceful break and a great base for sports activities and exploring the natural beauty of the karst (Škocijan caves, Divača cave, Lipica etc). The host was very friendly and helpful.
The location is perfect to visit the caves and ideally located on the way to the south (eg. Piran etc).
The room was clean.
The breakfast was not extravagant but had decent choices.
There is a restaurant in the hotel (convenient since there is not much around) but I didn’t try it.
Last minute booking, absolutely delighted with our decision. Incredibly welcoming of two wet, dusty bikers, with an offer to park the motorbikes in the secure garage. Food in the attached restaurant was the best we had all trip. Great little family run hotel, thoroughly recommend.
