Our stay at Čebron Family Estate was fantastic. The owners were incredibly friendly and provided excellent service. The homemade food was delicious and the wines from their own vineyard were superb.
The rooms were comfortable and clean, equipped with modern amenities such as air conditioning and spacious rooms (with a balcony) offering a beautiful view over the valley and their vineyard. The location is ideal for exploring attractions like different castles, caves, musea and the surrounding area is perfect for hiking and cycling.
Im short, Čebron Family Estate combines comfort, hospitality and excellent meals, which made our stay unforgettable. We will definitely come back!

Possible to do nice hikes, but the tourism infrastructure is more targeted at cyclists. No marked hiking routes, or trail descriptions.
The potential for hiking is there though, but you need to do your own research.
It is possible to hike from Branik over the ridge through the hilltop hamlet of Sveti Martin, down to the Vipava valley.

Then have lunch in Gostilna sivi Čaven Jasmina Čermelj in the village of Potoce, then back to Branik over the Preserje village.
And I think, that it would also be possible to hike to the top of the mountain ridge south of Branik, to get a view of the Branica valley.
Cycling, you get more mileage, if you don´t mind the hilly roads.
There is a bus to the karst hilltop village of Stanjel. It is a walkable distance, but the road isn´t very nice.
There are a fair amount of rural B&Bs, at farms and vineyards throughout the area, that are more difficult to get to by public transport.
There is an excellent restaurant and pizzeria at Osterija Branik.
