Visby offers a wealth of history with its well-preserved...
Visby offers a wealth of history with its well-preserved medieval architecture, including the impressive city wall and numerous church ruins. The old town is featuring charming cobblestone streets and vibrant rose-covered cottages. The Botanical Garden is also worth visiting for its diverse plant life and tranquil atmosphere. The surrounding Gotland countryside is equally beautiful, offering stunning coastal views and picturesque villages. Everything worth visiting in Visby is within walking distance.
However, a common challenge for tourists in Visby, as in many popular destinations, is finding dining options that aren't primarily aimed at tourists. Many restaurants in the old town cater to visitors, which can mean higher prices and a less authentic culinary experience. Sankt Hans Café left a good impression, offering a more genuine taste of local cuisine.

Loved exploring the old churches and reading the stories about the old wall. The old town is easy and fun to explore over a long weekend. It has cobblestoned streets so leave your fancy shoes at home. Very walkable, but there are also a handful of taxis. There are many bike hire places and coastal rides to do. There are lots of good places that have honest pricing to eat and drink at if you look around. Most places are very expensive to stay in within the old town. Book at least six months in advance to have a choice.

A very interesting place with lots of history especially from the Hanseatic times. The city walls alone are so impressive, as are the old church ruins and the old houses preserving the historical atmosphere. At the same time it is a lively location with nice places to enjoy a coffee or a dinner. Am very glad I finally visited and can definitely recommend.

Visby is easy to be without a car, we walked everywhere.
Visby is easy to be without a car, we walked everywhere. Apart from the centre with all of the historical buildings we went for a walk to the cliffs which was incredible. Another place to walk is a promenade with beautiful views. We also visited a library which is exceptional and also have a cafe. We were in pizzeria Milli Lire in the centre with fantastic pizza and service. We highly recommend Italian restaurant Isolabella where we went for lunch buffet fro food and service. There are some nice shops with locally made products that we recommend.

Excellent hotel in a perfect location and very good value for money.
The room was spacious, clean and with extremely comfortable beds, we sleep like babies. WiFi was free and with no password. A nice little lounge area as well with two chairs and a table.
Nice breakfast in a charming atrium with very nice staff. There is also free coffee available 24/7 (water kettle and nescafe).
And speaking of staff, a very special mention must go to Mikaela, whos kindness and service mindedness needs a very special mention.
The location its almost located in the heart of the city , everything is nearby , huge outdoors with some grass lawns , rooms and the staffs are excellent , especially the staffs exceptional hospitality and the breads in the breakfast 🥐 are fresh and warm , overall the breakfast is too good , rooms are complete wood interior we stayed in Gotland courtyard style room , it may look like a small room but even with a kid it's more than sufficient and the bathrooms also large so thumbs up for that
Very nice and cosy hotel. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast (non-chain hotel style). Location is wonderful next to beautiful park and sea is just a very small walk (through the park) away. Really looking forward to return some day.
