Hotell Kristina, hotel in Sigtuna

Overlooking Lake Mälaren, this family-owned hotel has a peaceful location in the centre of Sigtuna, Sweden’s oldest town.

I liked how friendly the staff was and the breakfast buffet and the main building. I did not have time to check out the pool or the sauna. I also liked the heated bathroom tiles. So practical.

The BBQ buffet in the hotel garden that I booked extra is really recommended. The food and the environment is really good. The shampoo have good smell and quality.

Excellent price quality ratio. Rooms and toilets were clean. There was pool table and ping pong table that our kids loved. Short walk away from the city center. Nothing fancy but excellent for a short visit with possibility to make your own food.

If you like history Sigtuna has a number of interesting attractions. Stora Gatan is the oldest street in Sweden. In addition, there are a number of runestones around the town. There is a map of the runestone locations near the museum so that you can locate them around town. The local bakery is wonderful.

Sigtuna is amazing, it is a small town so you can defenitly see all of it in one day, but it is absolutely worth going there. It is the oldest town in Sweden and has a very rich viking history. The town is still the way it was 1000 years ago!! Around the little town are very old rune stones that are absolutely worth seeing, also beautiful viking ruins. I would also recommend the Sigtuna museum for some great viking history and very interesting information about Sigtuna in olden times. If you are curious about viking life..sigtuna is the place to be!

Hotel very clean. Good breakfast. Staff very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We were spending the following day in the town and the hotel were happy for us to leave our bags in their luggage room until we were ready to travel onward in the evening. The hotel is on the outskirts of the town but Sigtuna is very small so it is only a 3 or 4 minute walk and you are in the centre.

A small hotel close to the lake. The extra bed was broken and has been replaced in minutes. Good breakfast.
