Second visit to Karlstad and both times have been too short. There is a lot to see, especially around the cultural area, including the Värmlands Museum and Sandgrund Lars Lerin. And pleasant strolls along the river and canals.

Karlstad is the biggest little city in Sweden and a joy to visit. What other city with <100,000 population even has its own opera house and cathedral? The lakeside setting where Klarälven meets Lake Vänern is gorgeous. There's lots to see and do within the city, even as it is very human-sized and walkable.

Absolutely chill out place. Quiet area, beautiful walks around, perfect facility, close to beach, useful reception with convenient shop, lovely cute cottage with everything what you need for a stay.

The architecture is beautiful and the town is built in a comfortable way so you get to be in many parks and river along with shopping centers and places to eat.
The people of the town were friendly and helpful which was really nice.
