The employees are nice and the breakfast is OK (nothing more than that), which does not cover up the fact that the management seems intent to save on maintenance while at the same time setting the room rates at unreasonably high levels.

Wow! We highly recommend Laponia Sky Hut. We had a wonderful, cozy and relaxing time. We were welcomed and greeted by the owners (Denise and Stephan). Hospitality definitely 5+ stars!! We were served a full (buffet style) breakfast that Denise brought out to us in the morning in her boat. And a delicious, homemade dinner that was also brought out to our Sky Hut.
We sat and soaked up the sun on our personal deck while taking in the splendid vista surrounding us.

Gallivare is a mining town and in itself not particularly interesting for holiday takers but it provides good transport options to several of the national parks in the region.
It is possible to make some nice walks in the immediate vicinity of the town but these alone are not a reason to travel there.
I have enjoyed seven interrail or similar trips in recent years and can say that of all the various hotels/hostels I have used Gallivare B&B is without doubt the best.
The position overcooking the surrounding area, the accommodation, the breakfasts (and tea and biscuits later in the day) and above all the friendliness, support and concern for my welfare expressed by the staff added up to a perfect stay.
Very nice hotel, conveniently located by the train station. There is limited parking spots but everytime I have stayed here I have never found a problem finding a spot. I always stayed in the middle of the week so maybe in weekends it is not as easy.
Very nice relax area with sauna, perfect to relax after hiking.
