This was our second trip to Abisko, and it really is a magic place to stay, in summer or winter with a good level of comfort, and some really beautiful and easy walks from right outside the door. Regretted not getting a larger room though because 12 sq. meters was too small for 2 people for more than one night's stay (seemed bigger in the photos). Thankfully, there was a largish closet and shelves for storage. Breakfast had hot and cold options, nothing special, but good for a remote location. Very pleasant, helpful staff. Plenty of free parking. Lots of savage mosquitoes outside when we stayed, and the shop on the premises was a life-saver, as could buy repellant that worked. We did a great guided midnight sun walk with Lucas? who was very knowledgeable about plant and animal life in the area. He looked after our group well. Going up the mountain in the chairlift and seeing the expansive views was wonderful.

Best place to stay in the area. Also had the BEST restaraunt with fresh options and an amazing service staff. Easy travel among the Abisko forest and sights in Kiruna as well. Lots of communal living space inside and out.
This guest house is in the center of Abisko and next to Abisko National Park. Depending on the season, the midnight sun and the Northern Lights can be viewed from the property and surrounding area.

Abisko is a really beautiful place. We went there to see the Northern lights and we were not disappointed. We also joined a snowmobile trip near our accommodation and it was fun and adventurous to tour around while riding the snowmobile and see wonderful sceneries. There are some other activities that can be done in Abisko too. Loads of love from Malaysia.

Abisko is small and friendly with a significant international population during the tourist season. It was easy to reach by overnight sleeper train from Stockholm. There is plenty to do but most people were there to see the Northern Lights because of its reputation as one of the most spectacular and accessible places in the world to see them. The only place to buy food is the convenience store attached to the gas station but it has a good range, at the prices you would expect for such a remote place. We visited in a “heat wave” of -15C in December when the locals expected more like -25C. Most accommodation and activities rent or provide boots and clothing to help you cope!

We particularly liked the fact that Abisko is remote and unspoilt. The scenery and mountainous backdrop are breathtaking and to have been able to hike around the area was delightful.
Seeing the Northern Lights on our second night, facilitated by Alex, was a dream come true and furnished us with some amazing pictures to take home to those who didn’t believe we would see them.
We ate a good, reasonably priced meal at Abisko Turiststation and would have liked to have tried the food at The Mountain Lodge but it was shut which was a shame.
The supermarket nearby is well- stocked and comparatively reasonably priced for essentials such as milk and bread.
The village is easily navigated on foot and well-signposted.

The natural part is stunning. Both winter and summer periods are filled with activities. Winter is special for the northern lights and 24hours night while the summer is known for the midnight sun and the Kungsleden trail for hike.

It is honestly one of the most beautiful places that I have ever seen. We were staying there for several days, instead of just using it as a start of a long hike, were afraid that there is not going to be much to do. But there were enough short hikes and different views to keep us busy and in complete awe. Also, so many berries.

I was in a mixed dorm - which was clean and had enough space. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. They could however store toilet papers in the bathrooms as they tend to run over before the maintenance breaks.
Food was ok not great and little option available for snacks. Esp since this is a cold place - warm snacks would be a god send - and that was not even an option here.
The Lodge is really nice, cosy, comfortable. The welcome you wish when arriving in Abisko.
The room (superior) was pretty big and characteristic.
Good restaurant (the only one probably in Abisko when we got there) and good breakfast!
The hall has a cosy area with books and board games, and a small shop.
The personnel is kind and gives good suggestions.
There is a flat high ground area 3 min walking (helicopter base) with darker sky where to spot aurora!
Sauna is a plus.
Clean comfortable and beautiful hotel with lots of artwork, books reflecting the history of the organisation at Abisko and cosy places to sit and enjoy. Opportunities to join activities with guides waiting to answer and explain in the evening.
