The location is actually amazing. You get to experience a different kind of Honiara, away from a busy main street.
When I was walking down the hill to the city center, I was surprised at the kindness of the whole community around.
Children playing around, everyone greeting me... very nice walk (there is a minibus from town available, but I actually preferred to walk, for the experience of meeting all the locals on my way)
The lodge is a family run business. Beautifully situated, with nice clean rooms and common area. I really loved JR, who is a caretaker of the lodge. Cheers to you and your family man!

A very quiet place.
Ellice from the hotel was very friendly and helped us with all questions.
Very good internet connection.
Functioning air-condition and fan.
There are a couple of cafes 10 min walk next to the airport.

I have visited Honiara many times and this is my hotel of choice. It is perfect for a longer stay away from dust and hustle of downtown Honiara. The staff are welcoming, attentive and incredibly friendly. Security is second to none. A great pool area, well equipped gym, fantastic bar with quality entertainment and a decent restaurant. I find that the local flavour and genuine affection for the work of the staff is so preferable to the more formal and stuffy atmosphere of the some of the more 'up-market' options in town. It has a relaxing and comfortable vibe, and sometimes you need that in Honiara.
It is also a perfect place to meet friends and colleagues as it has such a large outdoor footprint and plenty of quiet places with beautiful seaside views and breezes. It welcomes visitors and for a small fee, your friends and children can use the pool and the gym or do a Zumba class.
I enjoyed every minute of my stay. I would highly recommend it.

Tourism here is quite undeveloped compared to other Pacific countries but I found Karen at Iumi Tour Solomons excellent. She arranged a couple of day tours when I was stranded in Honiara due to frequently changed flight schedules. Allow for things to go wrong and it is a wonderful experience if a little gritty.

I was there to visit the US Marine Corps battle sites: Edson's Ridge, Alligator Creek, Battle of Henderson Field, and others. There's a lot to see in 1 week, so plan in advance what you want to see - and get in shape to hike in the heat. These are real jungle battlefields, and with luck you'll find relics and remnants.

Not set up for independent tourists, it's still possible to go and arrange thing yourself. i hired a banana boat to take me to Roderick Bay to see the wreck of the World Discoverer with a stopover in Tulagi. There's no a lot to do in the main centre so get away from the dust and see a bit of the island. The dive shop is shut for walk-in business, but i was told to ring to arrange something. The beach at Bonegi is worth the visit for snorkeling on the WW2 wreck. The Sugar Plum restaurant in the Art Gallery is good cheapish food. Next door is a path to take you to a more upmarket and excellent breakfast cafe called the Breakwater. There's a sign outfront.

It offers people a view of a primitive society.
It offers people a view of a primitive society. It is safe, and offers interesting historical and cultural views. The hotels vary and are clean and safe. Tours are available to see historic places from World War II that were active in the Solomon Islands. There are ways to enjoy the water snorkeling at a few places that are really beautiful. This is not a sandy beach, luxury island. Water ways are also used for disposing of garbage. The streets are covered with Beetle nut spit. You don't walk barefoot. Shanty's line the streets in out of town. Individual gardens are the source of food. But grocery stores are starting to import canned and dried goods. Their gardens provide most of the food. They are now building good new schools and encouraging the young people to be able to improve their lives with education.

The staff are wonderful. From the concierge, to the front desk and the bar and restaurant staff. All went out of their way to be helpful and delightful. The bar and the entertainment is the best in Honiara. Meals were good. The location is out of the dusty CBD but everything is accessible with a short bus or taxi ride.
Our room and bathroom were clean with exceptional wifi. Good value for money comparative to the Solomon Islands. The food at the restaurant was also nice. It was also an easy walking distance to supermarket shops and the main town. The hotel is dated but it was clean and comfortable for us.
The best place that I could find in Honiara! Really clean, comfortable, WIFI FAST!!!! And the best is the people there! Totally friendly, Doti is really good and lovely with guests, I could fell like a real good energy there! I’ll be my options ever!!
King Solomons is situated very conveniently within the town area. They have friendly and helpful staff. I like their eating options, very good pizza and dishes. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
