Olivier and his colleagues couldn't have been more friendly and more helpful. Beforehand communication was good, clear and helpful.The accommodation is modest and very basic, but this is to be expected. The view, the service, the friendliness, the atmosphere - all of it is off the charts.
We loved the view, the little fire brought to us in the evenings, the simple but delicious meals we booked extra and the breakfast with the volcano view.
Olivier and colleagues helped booked a hike and jeep to get us there - all was taken care of. We felt priviliged to be part of the dream of Olivier and would recommend this place to anyone who would like to stay off the beaten track, is not expecting a lot of luxury but does love great service.

The location and gardens are amazing and the staff very professional, friendly and helpful. Their chef is a wizard in the kitchen and the meals expertly prepared. And then there is the resident fur baby - Sparky, who welcomes you to the property! The Lodge is also conveniently located close to the Volcanoes National Park and there are little touches such as preparing snacks to take with when you go gorilla trekking and cleaning muddy boots that make the stay extra special. The lounge and dining areas are spacious and well-appointed. My room was huge and in the evenings the staff add warm water bottles to your bed and light a fire so the room is cosy when you return from dinner.

Everything was so clean, organized. The staff was amazing, I made good friends with them as I was solo traveling. There’s hot water for shower and good pressure, the bed is comfortable, they have laundry service and the food was very good at the hotel. The room is spacious and SUPER SUPER quiet, it was most important to me as I’m a light sleeper. The rooms face a nice big tranquil garden. Everything felt so peaceful here in this hotel. There’s mosquito net as well. A yummy nutritious breakfast is included. I loved it here so much that I extended my stay!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Kingo Cottage, and would definitely revvomd staying here. It felt like a home away from home! The staff is great and they go a long way to make you feel comfortable, from setting up the fireplace in the room, or preparing hot water bottles for you in the evening! The food is great too both the rich breakfast and the set menu for dinner. The cottage is located in a nice and quiet area surrounded by green. super. Nicely decorated and true to it's location! Definitely reccomend the delux room with the balcony that has an incredible view! Thank you so much for the beautiful stay!
