Poiana Mărului is one of my favorite places in Romania, it's also known for the purest air in Europe. The lake is fantastic, the weather is good usually, there are plenty of hikes available and nature is simply stunning, including waterfalls, rivers (where you can also do rafting), churches, mountains nearby, etc.
I'm seriously considering getting a holiday house there so I definitely stand behind my review :)
