I had the pleasure of staying at Fortuna Hotel, and I can honestly say that it was a good accomodation experience.
The apartment, which I booked a month ago for myself and my parents, was spacious, rustic theme decorated, with an walk in shower made out of natural stones with a glass-cubes wall; also many green plants that made it somehow homey and cosy-not many hotel rooms have plants. The hot water took a min. to reach second floor but that was understandable. The view was all around through multiple windows and the balcony. Entering the room I felt the air was very warm, I had the impulsive idea to turn down the heat but then it was just perfect with the time passing. The beds were comfortable, ergonomic foam pillow and matress, and the most important it was very quiet.
It was booked with breakfast and dinner and both meals had menus, 4 options for breakfast and 6 options for dinner. The restaurant is cosy decorated, we were served fast, food was tasty but none of the food was grilled or in the oven, everything is fried in oil. The staff was focused, attentive, genuinely friendly and at least 2 languages speakers.
As the central Thermal Baths were closed for renovations, a fact that we found out at the location, the hotel offered to prepare the outside hot tub for us and as well one of our dinner wine bottles was complementary- Thank you for the nice gesture.

Good location, right in the center. We succeeded to change the room in which they initially checked us in, because the conditions were poor to a 3* like room that was recently reconditioned and that saved our 1 week holiday, in a way we were lucky to find availability for a better room, otherwise it would have been all bad.

Location is amazing, in the middle of the nature, quiet, clean, with everything you need.
Reception staff at check-in was bored, did not smile or welcome us at the property. We needed to ask multiple questions to find out basic information (breakfast time, SPA schedule, etc) all which should have been provided without asking.
Breakfast options are very diverse
Restaurant food is really delicious.
SPA can get really crowded and loud / noisy.

After reading a lot of negative reviews about this resort we came there with low expectations. As it turned out it was much better than expected! The rooms were right for 4 stars standard, not too big but new and nice. The spa center is just great, one of the best ones I have seen in Romania, also our 4 years old boy enjoyed it. The highlights are a shower with snow and the exterior sauna with a wood/stone oven. The restaurant (Forest) was very nice and the waiters very friendly. Also the breakfast was above our expectations with amazing coffee. The only negative thing to mention was a hamburger that we had for dinner which was one of the worst I have ever eaten. The rest of the food was good and not expensive for a 4 stars hotel. We will come again as the hotel, spa center and location are exceptional, but not for the standard price because that one is definitely too high. From time to time the hotel offers some discounted prices for weekends, then it's worth it to pay around 300 EUR for a double room for 2 nights with breakfast and access to the spa.

Someone from the management of the location decided on my money and my confort where I should stay during my vacation there. Even if I paid with one month before for a Vila Panorama room with terrace and view, when we arrived, at the checkin, we were told there are some problems with what we’ve booked and we received a standard room with no view and no terrace. I asked for them and I was told they are fully booked. Also they said i will received a discount and the discount was in fact the difference paid for the innitial room. I also went during my stay there to see if indeed there were issues witj that villa, however the parking was full and a lot of clients were accomodated there. I decided not to let this trouble my vacantion and enjoy my stay focusing on the positive aspect, however I was very dissapointed on the way they treat this. Beaides this aspect, the rest was ok, as we decided to focus on the positive aspects.

The thing we did not liked was that in the restaurant, they give you some bread with a table spoon of butter which they tell you it's from the house, but at the end you will find it charged to you on the bill. Also, there's a service charge on the bill, which is never the same.

Balvanyos is a great place for those who want to have a trip...
Balvanyos is a great place for those who want to have a trip back to nature. The road goes through a forest and along the way you can find many great places where you can stop, take photos, enjoy natural springs from which you can drink. The place is home to a Sulphur cave called Budos Barlang where you can hike to, or you can visit a volcanic lake in the area called Szent Anna, where in winter time you can rent slides and slide down the road and have a great time.
There are many restaurants to choose from depending on your budget. You can try local food at Istvana restaurant or have a fine dining experience at the Fork restaurant, it's up to you. If you are lucky you can spot the two bears that usually stand by the road and wait for the tourists to give them a treat.

The spa is nice but you are allowed only 2h/day with reservation. The food is not great and not fresh. After 2 dinners we started going to another restaurant, 3.5km away. The tables in the hotel restaurant are dirty.

The location was 10+. The design of the hotel, restaurants and garden is made with good taste, the rooms are cozy. The food is really good, Forest restaurant is for normal food, Gastro is for fancy stuff. Papanași ❤️. The SPA experience is absolutely great, fully reccomend it, especially during the evenings.
Really clean and nice in entire resort, personnel is well mannered. fully deserved 4 stars.
Loved everything about the accommodation from the decor to the spa and fantastic treatments and massages, from the food from the restaurant to the staff.
Also we received a sparkling wine from the hotel as a welcome gift, we appreciated this nice gesture.
The area is so quiet, in the woods- gorgeous surroundings.
The hotel was a modern one, the finishes , furniture, the views and facilities were the best. We enjoyed there some special sauna show and some massage sessions. They managed to change our room at first because we didn’t liked the first one.
