The accommodation has basic things you need, but it is enough. We stayed there 7 nights and we loved it. Frederic is one of the nicest hosts I have ever met. The bathroom is cleaned every day. The room is big enough and the bed is comfortable. We had a nice and pleasant stay 😊

Staying at Ocean View was a truly serendipitous experience. The rejuvenating sea views and gentle birdsong, along with a beautifully maintained garden, created the perfect space for relaxation. The mountains’ embrace added the final touch to this picture-perfect retreat. Nasrin is a warm, kind-hearted host who quickly became a friend; I loved the time we spent chatting together. She has created a magical place where people can come to recharge and find peace.

This is a beautiful, small town in the north side you should definitely stay in. It's central to most everything (even though a huge chunk of a convenient road to some trails was closed...) and has its own lovely charm.

Helena is very kind helpful and welcoming and made our stay very comfortable. The area is beautiful, the house is in the perfect location to explore the north part/north west, and spend time in the capital city.
House has huge en-suite rooms and a great size well-equipped kitchen, living room, and terrace with outdoor furniture.
We had dinner every day in Sao Vicente (5 min by car) Restaurante Calamar. Excellent food, and we were happy with everything we tried.
I am sure will go and stay here next time when we'll visit the island.

Sao Vicente is a great base for exploring the north of the island without really having a huge amount going for it per se (nothing negative). But Seixal is only a few km away and is my favourite village on the island! Sao Vicente does have a few ok restaurants by the sea but I had better meal experiences elsewhere during my trip. The local caves are closed for the next year or so.

The village is absolutely beautiful.
The village is absolutely beautiful. Ideal for walking around. The views are just stunning, especially if you walk on top of the hill where the small chapel is. It's just difficult to get there if you want to use public transport. Buses there are a nightmare. We were lucky enough that our previous host took us there from Funchal. Otherwise we would struggle as nobody whom we asked in Funchal knew where the bus stop was for bus going to Sao Vicente.

Sao Vicente is a small town on the north side of Madeira,...
Sao Vicente is a small town on the north side of Madeira, rather less well known than most of the south side of the island. It has an interesting old church, a garden of indigenous trees (for plant enthusiasts), volcanic caves and interpretation centre (for geology enthusiasts) and several good restaurants (for foodies!).
From Sao Vicente you can travel along the north coast; westwards to Seixal and Porto Moniz, eastwards to Boaventura, Sao Jorge or Santana. Drive inland to Encumeada, the starting point for several superb hikes, or drive up to the Paul da Serra moorlands.
The roads around here are in good condition and easy to drive, there's not much traffic and the local drivers are quite considerate.
I've visited this area at various times of the year, for hiking and plant spotting, and there's always something new.
Food and drink? No problems! There is everything from simple roadside bars where you can share your coffee break with the locals to top quality restaurants serving authentic Madeiran dishes.

One perfect place. Definitely not like a hostel, you have privacy by having your own room which is quite big by the way. The rooms are separated by a curtain but for a hostel exceptional conditions. The hostel is located on the main road, a nice walk to Sao Vicente village. There is a big common room, a wonderful kitchen and very good bathroom space. The view from the terrace is fantastic, watching the sunset with the waves rolling in was one of the highlights of my stay.
In total, we changed five accommodations on our 7 day trip to Madeira. I rate this accommodation as the best of all. The owner and his very friendly nature contributed to this. He accommodated us with everything, fulfilled everything we needed in a fairly short time. I love this accommodation and if we return to Madeira we will definitely visit this town and accommodation again. I recommend this accommodation to everyone who wants to have a wonderful time in São Vicente
We had a wonderful stay at this cozy appartment. This appartment has a nice terrace with a bombastic view to the mountain landscape. Sao Vicente is very well located for discover the northern part of the island. The communication via Booking.com messenger was very good. I highly recommend this place.
Wonderful location with a view over The village/valley of São Vicente. Leonel let us taste The different wines he Made himself. With a rental car easy to visit Seixal, Porto Moniz and Fanal.
