The staff. They were brilliant - they made us feel incredibly welcome and their service was excellent. We had a wonderful meal in the restuarant, our room was large and very comfortable with ocean views and the proximity to the airport (3 minutes away) made it very convenient. From the time of my call to the hotel car pulling up at the airport terminal building was around 5 minutes. Fantastic!

Beautiful island
If you are driving in Funchal please make sure you have good directions. Google maps do not work right up in the neighborhoods in the hills. Rent mall car as roads are very narrow and winding

Santa Cruz is a small seaside village at the end of the runway. There are enough cafes and restaurants to keep you occupied along with some nice little parks and a good play ground if you have kids. The weather is just perfect.

Very good service by everybody, even the manager helped me get my car out, the breakfast staff did food for my special needs, the reception were very welcoming, it was clean & modern & I liked the mint water & that the hotel has a private garage.
Very good standard close to the airport & the small town center.
Only minus was that I'd wished for a heated jacuzzi .-)

Nice village from were to start exploring the eastern part of Madeira. The airport and the motorway are nearby and you'll be in Funchal in 30min. by car.
There isn't much to do in Santa Cruz but there is a few bars and restaurants to enjoy the evening, a public swimming pool, a couple of shops and you can spend some time on the beach.

The house located between Garajau and Canico.
The house located between Garajau and Canico. Cristo Rei in Garajau is a must to visit. Here hop on the cable car and take a look to Garajau beach. The beach is stony, there're much more nicer beaches to visit. Worth to eat at Talho do Canico, a tarditional grill bar in the centre of Canico. Taste tangerine poncha in La Carbonara in Garajau, the closest bar to the house.
If you visit Madeira in April don't miss out the flower carneval in Funchal!
Visit Sanatana to see the old traditional triangle shaped houses and visit Faial and Porto Moniz for the spectacular beach views.

I was pleasantly surprised how close the apartment was to the beach area of Santa Cruz. Also very nice fruit/veg shop, pharmacy and bakery/coffeeshop under the apartment block. The public transport is very easy to get to Funchal as well as Machico beach. Some busses will take you the scenic route. At the same time there is plenty of space to park you car in a safe place under the apartment block. The apartment has 2 bathrooms and the kitchen is a decent size. The washing machine does help too and I was amazed by the gigantic balcony.
Location is the best advantage of this apartment. Close to the airport (even on foot), close to the beach (rocky), 20 minutes by car to Funchal. Santa Cruz is a nice and silent city with several good restaurants and rocky beach. Apartment offers good view on planes landing at the airport, and great view on the ocean. There are washing machine and dishwasher, which are useful in case of longer stay. Garage parking lot is also very convenient.
Great central location, easy to commute by bus from both the airport and Funchal. Beaches and Santa Cruz pools with ocean water are nearby. Breakfast was good. The receptionist kindly helped me with finding a the bus stop to the Funchal and schedule. The room is bigger than I expected, has a desk and chair, armchair, and the wi-fi is stable so it's was comfortable to work here
Room was very clean and comfortable. There was a small balcony where we enjoy the landscape. The beach was very close to the hotel and there are lots of the restaurants around the area. We could find even the municipal swimming poll close to the location so even if there were big waves on the ocean we were be able to swim.
We loved our stay at Santa Cruz Village- great location and amazing staff . Special thanks for the extra bed/sofa. Great breakfast and overall we were impressed by the hotel(great value for money) and Santa Cruz. We will come back.
