The location is breathtaking, and all the shared facilities are the best: the pull, the Jacuzzies, all the sitting spots, it seems that every inch in this place got attention in design.
The rooms are big and comfy. We stayed in a room with a direct spot to the sunset and it was beautiful. The breakfast is very good, but above all the host is the nicest man. He take care for everythink that we asked and gave us his number in the days he weren’t there to tell him if something is wrong. This was the perfect place!

The price was very good for this private home. Great value. Beds were comfortable, temperature high up on the cliff was cool, so we didn't need an air conditioner (lots of windows to open). We went in late June. Great security - they had an electric gate that kept people off the property (but anyone could have jumped over the wall pretty easily), Car was parked in a secure garage, and there were metal security blinds over all of the ground-floor windows. There is a bar right next door, but we didn't have any problems with the noise or rowdy/drunken patrons. We wondered if the owners had put all of the security on the building because of previous problems with the bar - but we had no issues.
Kitchen was fine, sofa was fine, TV worked. There is a very large patio which looks out over the valley and ocean.
We temporarily lost the keys to the property and the owner (a very nice lady) kindly drove over to the house and gave us a spare set of keys... THANK YOU - you saved us.

The villa is wonderful for those with a vehicle and ability/desire to drive up the mountain - we found this particularly fun. There a number of stairs so check which villa you get - some have just 4 stairs some have 150 but all very quiet, private and beautiful.

We used Ribeira Brava as a base for exploring walks in the west of Madeira using the local buses. It is a modern town in a narrow valley and lacks the charms of Funchal. However, it has a several eating places, shops and a small sheltered beach. It is a hub for a number of bus routes.

Public transport in Madeira is a pain, so if you don't drive, it's not easy to get here. Bus information are lacking or are not very clear. Ribeira Brava is a quiet, cozy place, where you can have good restaurants, supermarket and can start nice trips from here.

Although this is listed as Ribeira Brava it is actually in Ponta do Sol which is lovely. really pretty little town with a few good restuarants tucked away down a side street. Beach is fab as you can go snorkelling on one side wihch is calm then there is a rougher section of sea if you want to swim in the waves. Nice cafe on the beach and a great one overlooking the bay.

An authentic cozy house in a quiet place with banana plantation and a bench and table on a mount slope above the ocean. Good price, attentive and helpful hostess. In the middle room there is no window and though there is a ventilator in the bathroom, you'd better dry your wet clothes outside. One more cone is not great sound isolation of the room and if you are sensitive for noisy neighbors... mmm... God bless, we did not have ones!
All the facilities for comfortable life.

Wonderful stay. The host – Eduardo is very friendly and outspoken. He took great care of us always asking if we needed something. Knows a lot about places to see in Madeira. The room was comfortable with a fantastic balcony view (our favourite thing, evenings on the balcony with a glass of wine). The room looked much better than in the pictures. There was a variety of produce provided for breakfast all fresh and delicious.
Trustworthy Host, pick up & drop off from Madeira Aeroporto, good price😊Ask for car & offroad drive! & maybe even great tips for viewpoints... Ribeira Brava has quite good beaches 😊 Your bedroom is aprox half hour from the Aeroporto by car.
Ribeira Brava is a lovely village with great amenities (restaurants, shops, museum, beach) and this flat is perfectly situated to access all of them. The property is of a good size in a beautiful location overlooking the ocean.
