View from the location was magnificent! A car is really essential as the property is way up the top of a big hill! Quintessential Portuguese property. Very well equipped and very clean. The Portuguese tarts provided each day were a nice touch. Lounge was very comfortable. Large TV with good selection of English channels. Booklet provided very helpful for wineries, restaurants and things to do in the area. Property close to Pinhao. Mini market 5 minutes drive away well stocked with good selection.
Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a private pool, mountain view and a terrace, Casa das Laranjeiras is located in Pinhão. This property offers access to a patio and free private parking.

Everything. Antonio was such a lovely guy, and he made sure we had everything we needed. The apartment was very clean, well stocked, and we especially appreciated the fresh oranges and juicer provided. Best OJ ever! Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa da FÁ 2. The location is very good, right on the main street of Pinhão, so only a few meters away from the supermarket and nearest restaurants. Despite of that, the upper apartment we were in, was oriented away from the road, facing the calmer side with a beautiful view of the river. There was a small table with chairs on the little terrace, where we could enjoy wine with the lovely scenery. The interior of the apartment is newly rebuilt, very well designed and decorated. The apartment was perfectly clean, and the beds were very comfortable. In the fully furnished kitchen, we could use beautifully decorated plates and cups. As a welcome gift we got a bottle of home port wine. The communication with the landlord was very quick and we got always help and answers if we needed anything. The whole house has its own history and character, which made our stay even more special. We would definitely stay at this place again in the future. Thank you for a memorable experience.
Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a pool with a view, Suite Nunes is set in Pinhão.

A very relaxing retreat, with a beautiful outdoor terrace area including swimming pool. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming, and made us fresh, homemade breakfasts every morning. The location was perfect as was only a 3 minute walk to the train station.

The river setting was stunning, and we did a whole-day tour, which was excellent.
The town itself is very shabby, some buildings crumbling. Quite shocking when it is hailed as the prettiest town in the valley. I was told many of the empty shops are owned by people who want to charge over the odds to rent them out, and would rather leave them empty than rent at anything less.

Apart from the vineyards and river cruises there is little at Pinhao, however it's worth the train or boat journey. A one night stay was ideal for us and enough. We ate at the Writers Place which was great (but they only take cash).

It is a small town in a beautiful setting. The solar boat ride was really nice - we went in the late afternoon when most of the boat traffic had settled down. There are at least four wineries where tasting is possible (although we didn't participate). We really enjoyed the restaurant Cozinha da Clara just outside of the village - they served the best pork we had ever eaten. The Vintage House has a lot of character and is a lovely place to stay.

Pinhao is a great town to based in Douro Valley.
Pinhao is a great town to based in Douro Valley. There are tons of wineries and restaurants on the town level to walk to and also up in the hills. You can come to Pinhao by train from Porto easily and then walk or take cabs to get to wineries. Don’t leave without taking a private or group boat trip for amazing scenery. If you take the train from Pinhao to,the last stop going east and then turn around and return to Pinhao this has beautiful views too. We loved staying at Casa do Casal de Loivos (it is up in the hills but a 10 euro cab ride will take you into town). The view from there are unmatched. We also loved staying one night at Casa De La Rosa, which has an amazing restaurant and beautiful terrace with a swimming pool. You can walk into Pinhao town from Casa De La Rosa so it is a convenient location.

Close to the centre of Pinhao, the Douro is beautiful. Pedro, the owner, is great, very helpful guy. Have a drink (or two) and a sandwich in his bar Cafe Imperio opposite the station! He gave us some great tips for walks, brought fresh bread everyday to go with the breakfast food in the fridge, and sorted out our washing! Comfy bed too.
This is simple comfortable accommodation.
The picture is exactly the view which is absolutely one of the most stunning outlooks you will find. There were many areas in the house to relax but the balcony was where we spent most of time. Getting up and down the hill to Pinhao is not for the faint hearted, but we loved it. Our hosts were beyond helpful and we thank them so much for making our stay so flawless.
Lovely people, comfortable and cool rooms with air conditioning, a good shower and free parking. Well equipped kitchen and a generous breakfast was provided as well as complimentary water in the fridge. Located a couple of minutes walk from the picturesque Pinhao railway station and 10 mins from the beautiful quayside area.
A very nice place to unwind and relax in following some hectic days travelling. The apartment was close to the centre, spacious and clean with everything you needed. The terrace afforded fabulous views over Pinhao and the Douro and pool looked inviting, although we didn't use it. Breakfast included.
The hotel appears to be quite new, our room was very comfortable with a large balcony, and had a great view over Pinhao and the Douro river. Breakfast was good.
