Good value, relaxing setting, casual atmosphere. Needed a hide-away place in a country-side setting, it worked.

The breakfast was excellent, especially the eggs prepared upon request. The hotel is located just at the entrance of the village, which is very convenient. I also loved the decor, with all the books and fireplaces creating a cosy environment. The staff was very kind and attentive!

The property is just beautiful, you really feel like royalist while staying in the castelo de obidos hotel. The views from the restaurant were so pretty and we could walk straight to the castle walls from our room.
The service was very impressive, everyone in there was friendly and ready to help with anything you might need. Overall is worth the stay.

Óbidos is an such an interesting medieval town which according to history was a gift from the King of Portugal to his new wife back in 1281.
Ideally wear decent walking shoes to manage the cobbles and steps which are in abundance.
If staying in the town, there are lots of restaurants to choose from with absolutely no need to get into a car to head out.
We were there in November and on Saturday morning, a couple of coaches arrived with tourists. Guessing in high season, those coach numbers increase which could make exploring the town a lot less relaxing and enjoyable.

This is a good location to make day trips to other locations. The walled city of Obidos is very crowded and touristy. Instead we'd recommend a day trip to Tomar, Nazare, Alcobaca etc. Definitely you should visit the Buddha Eden Garden in nearby Bombarral.

Óbidos is a cozy intimate romantic little medieval town situated in a very whimsical region of Portugal. The food there is particularly outstanding, be it quality as its relation with price - our late dinner at Real Casa do Petisco followed in the predicates that I announced above; not only did not disappoint as it completely surprised us to be so well served as we were: the food as divine and the staff were of such attentiveness and kindness. I highly recommend it to couples, whatever their age may be. It delivers a greatly complete getaway experience.

Obidos is a charming small town with its original surrounding walls. It's great for a one night stay and an exploration of the town, the castle and the walls, If you're not too afraid of heights (there are no guardrails) you can walk pretty much all the way around the town on the walls. There are some very good restaurants and charming shops. If you are planning an overnight stay the Patio House is well worth considering.

Overrun with tourists.
Overrun with tourists. We liked other locations similar to Obidos which were missing the hoards of tourists. Obidos, Lisbon and Porto were overrun with tourists April 10-May 15. We visited three other fortress hilltop towns that had only three to five other tourist cars visiting while we were there. I would skip Obidos and we left the place after one hour.

This was the most perfect place to stay to stay within the castle walls is amazing. The owners were so kind and generous the breakfast was a feast of Portuguese treats and we were given wine and cherry liqueur to taste. Everything was exceptional and the most authentic accommodation we have had on our trip to Portugal.
Wonderful hotel. I wasn't expecting much in a small town like that, but it was charming. The pool area overlooking the castle is terrific. The breakfast was great. The staff were over the top friendly and helpful. They have an underground parking garage that was free. Overall great experience and I'll be back.
Our room was amazing, spacious and comfortable with great views on both sides of the town and the castle walls.
Resturants, bars and all the sights are very close by.
Parking was available just outside the castle walls and close to the hotel.
The owner is an amazing lady and stops at nothing to please with info about Óbidos e surroundings. It was a most delightful experience, I am travelling by bicycle and there I found an spacious room, cleanness and quiet. Thank you Dona Graça!
Very tasteful with minimal space, room just as photos on booking. Comfortable bed and good pillows, which is hard to come by in many Portugal accomodations. . Great staff, friendly, hard working, and helpful. Very clean.
