It’s all about the beach and unfortunately we had awful weather so were unable to make the most of the location. Matosinhos itself didn’t have much to see but did have plenty of shops and restaurants.

WE looked for a boutique type of accommodation within 10-15 minutes of the da Vinci airport at Porto, away from the city centre but on a tram route, and in this case, the 500 bus that went along the sea front and segued into the banks of the Douro river.
The 'hotel' only provided breakfast but coffee, home bottled water was available until around 7pm as were such snacks as were left over from breakfast. This seeming lack of facilities did not matter there was a cafe opposite, and several down the street to the tram stop about 250m away.
You were spoilt for choice of eateries nearby. We did not use the pool because of the bad weather, nor did we book the use of the inhouse bikes but both these facilities make it an ideal stop or temporary HQ for those on the Camino, or venturing just on the Boardwalk northwards.
We went for location, and ease of access to Porto City centre and the airport. The weather prevented any real exploring of Matosinhos.
maybe next time...?

Airy, bright, handy for the sea and for Porto.
Airy, bright, handy for the sea and for Porto. Excellent transport - metro and 500 bus round the coast with lovely views. Transport is cheap with an Andante card that you can use on both. Handy shops and restaurants.

Super family room with child bed in slightly separate wing for privacy. This hotel was ideally situated to attend the Porto U11 International Football Tournament. It was also so close to local transport links it would enable tours of old town and new, visit port outlets etc. all very easy to accomplish.

Great location, beach is lovely lots of surfing, bigger waves nearer to Porto city end , lovely shops and cafes ,
Metro and bus into city , double decor bus best as you see right along the beach , just tap on with your bank card no faffing with validating , and just as fast , big yellow number 500 ,
The port is an interesting look around and fish market, expect it to be a bit smelly though it’s a huge working port

The host, Sofia, is superb. I traveled with my small service dog and she had the room prepped with a dog bowl for Lola. Just for that alone she deserves 10 extra points.
The location is in a hot spot of porto - it’s Matosinhos sul. It’s the city beach and served by metro. It’s the most expensive real estate in port for reference. The rooms are just like the pictures. It is so clean and well cleaned and up kept.
Check in and check out is done by code. They can hold luggage.
I would love to return.
The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable.
The breakfast was delightful: always freshly bread and pastry ('pastéis de nata' every day)
I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Matosinhos.
Amazing… guests and the host are totally friendly btw I adore “Alfredo” dog it’s a lovely and cheating like every dachshund dog (in the GOOD way) inside the property it’s perfect…
It’s a shame I didn’t have enough time to enjoy hotel, beach and surf next time!

Location was perfect both for Matasinhos area and public transport by metro into Porto. The hotel looked beautiful, and is a well maintained family run business. Excellent breakfast, and the manager and staff were friendly and helpful.
Excellent location to explore Matosinhos and Porto. Family friendly, hotel with nice breakfast (large variety, fresh fruit and juice). We stayed with our 2 kids in a large room with balkony!
