Leiria doesn't have much to offer, it is a cute city but without much to do. The castle is quaint, but there are more impressive castles in Portugal. The center looks a little empty and abandoned, however for being a smaller city you can find good food for a reasonable price.
People usually come here with errands and take the opportunity to see the city.

Leiria is a very beautiful relaxing town easy to get from Lisbon by bus. Nice restaurants and an interesting castle with more than just half broken down walls. The town is close enough to travel to Batalha & Alcobaça Monasteries as well as the seaside town of Nazaré by bus.

Leiria was a surprise.
Leiria was a surprise. This small town had a lot going on: cultural events, a castle, good restaurants. It was very international and felt like a hidden gem.
I walked around everywhere, and the food was consistently good wherever I went. Parking in lots was very inexpensive (around 5EU a day)--the whole place seemed livable and quite awesome.

Historical city with many good features such as the castle. Very good variety of places to eat. Christmas time in Leiria is particular pleasant. The Christmas decorations are spectacular. There are lots of rides and entertainment for children as well.

Leiria has a nice historic center which is worth a walk.
Leiria has a nice historic center which is worth a walk. It also has a beautifully landscaped area around the river along its entire length. Pleasant cafes and restaurants (Street R. Dr. Correia Mateus is full of great restaurants). You can spend 2-3 beautiful days here, a week seemed too long to me. It has good and frequent transport connections, a bus station right in the center. It was 50 minutes by bus to Nazaré.

A great quiet old town with lots of places of interest (of historical significance), museums, exhibitions, archaeological excavation sites, galleries, etc. There is a lot of well-preserved historical architecture either, manifesting the vein of 'Old Europe'. Lots of parks for a walking and hiking, equipped with bicycle tracks, old gothic-stylish cemetery. For those who may be longing for 'civilisation' (as I usually do either) there is a huge Leiria Shopping centre with everything needed. As well as there's Lidl (or two) in the city. Worth visiting either for short vacation or as a place of historic sightseeing.

This hotel is very conveniently situated, just a 5-minute walk from the coach station. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spacious, with lovely views - the balcony rooms are absolutely a treat! The showers have very big heads - a lovely way to start the day :) ! We love the breakfast every morning, and D. Elvira ensures that everyone has everything they would like to eat or drink. Her welcoming and friendly nature make this the hotel we choose to go to time after time.
Everything was amazing, a beautiful apartment, a great location and a really nice owner, Orlando, who can't do enough for his guests. Thank you so much for an amazing experience staying in Leiria. We will definitely book again for next year. Ian & Benta
Excellent Hotel, excellent staff, very helpful. We borrowed the kitchen since the restaurant was closed, so nice and friendly owners. Location is in the middle of nowhere. I recommend this Hotel.
