Cecilia welcomed us with the mango juice and gave us a short briefing. The room was nice and clean with an ocean view. The place is located close to the promenade, but we have to use public parking. The place is not accessible by car. The house is very nice and we have a kitchen for our use. The breakfast was delicious, with fresh fruits and homemade banana bread. The town is very cute, with narrow streets and plenty of beautiful flowers. We really enjoyed staying at Cecilia house.

A beautiful, very modern house with every comfort. Very clean, we lacked absolutely nothing. The facilities far exceeded our expectations.
The owner is a very helpful and obliging host who kindly provided us with fruit, drinks, bread, cheese, etc.

A beautiful stop in Madeira if you want to treat yourself to a boutique, luxury experience - the views from the place and your own room are simply incomparable, the property is beautiful, staff is attentive, breakfast was great.
The restaurant was good: traditional dishes made with good technique and local, high quality ingredients, with a tasting menu changing daily. Didn’t feel particularly inventive if new, bold flavours are what you’re after, but it’s worth eating there one night.

Wonderful views, we lived on the ground floor and still had good ocean view. We saw the best sunsets on the island here. The whole place is very peaceful and quiet. The studio is large and has two separate rooms. Amazing breakfasts and dinners. The staff is super nice!
There is a free shuttle to Paul do Mar (ocean) on Friday and Monday.

We loved the location, the ocean view from the bedroom and the terrace is lovely. There was a nice sortiment of kitchenware, basic spices, tea and coffee which is a very kind treat.

Jardim do Mar is a beautiful, sweet spot on the southern coast, has restaurants, cafés and a small shop, and beautiful, narrow atmospheric winding little streets to walk around. It is also easy to reach from the main highway.

Jardim do Mar is fine, but not the flat we lived in (bad communication from the property at the arrival, poorly equipped kitchen, ants and property refusing to refund some money accusing us of leaving food on the balcony which would cause ants coming into the flat)... this to say the less.

We had to leave the accommodation early.
We had to leave the accommodation early. The reasons for this are:
1) It stinks terribly of feces, so you can't use the bathroom.
2) There are no windows that can be opened. One window is on a balcony accessible to several parties. The other window faces a public area. For security reasons, you can not open them.
3) The contractually guaranteed SAT connection is not available. Only a few German-language channels can be reached.
4) There was no mention of a major construction site that was constantly making noise.
5) A heating is not available.

The sea facing promenade is in about 200m walking distance.
The sea facing promenade is in about 200m walking distance. A free communal parking lot is about 200m away and else there are only narrow walkways in the village. The church is right behind the house but church bell exposure is very limited. Overall the neighborhood is quiet besides the distant waves and shields well the ongoing road- and tunnel works.
There is no real grocery shop available besides a small kiosk-bar for bread rolls. Mon to Sat a mobile bakery service is available that stops by the church between 8:15 and 08:30 offering a wide range of bread rolls and sticks plus local confectionary. Next recommendable supermarket is the Pingo Doce at the harbor of Calheta about 25 Mins away. Alternatively a small local super market situated at the at stage closed road to Jardim to Mar offers a reasonable level of supplies including fresh meat also next to a pharmacy.
About 300m away in the village Joes bar offers excellent and very affordable food and drinks almost every day plus friendly and relaxed local people. Another bar/restaurant by the harbor about 400m away we did not sample. Arrival in Jardim do Mar is a little cumbersome since direct access from Calheta side is blocked due to roadworks and tunnel works most likely until end of 2022. Hence an about 20 Mins detour via Paul do mar is needed to arrive at Jardim do mar which should not matter too much in a holiday setting.

Great for relaxation and stroll around this small village.
Great for relaxation and stroll around this small village. Close to it you can also finde Paúl do Mar which is also very small and relaxing. If the sea is calm, both are great options for a swim. Since I am a vegan, places to eat are a challenge for me and and in Jardim do Mar, there aren't many chances to get a good meal, in my case. If this isn't you cas, you will find some good places around.

Great location in one of the nicest villages of Madeira. Close to the market square (which allows you to bring your stuff by car/taxi, quite a rare case for the pedestrians' village of Jardim do Mar). Exceptionally comfortable outdoor spaces allow you to have meals outdoors even in rainy conditions. A lot of outdoor territories were appreciated by kids as well. Well-equipped kitchen.
Also, the hosts were very supportive, not only in flat-related issues.
Really nice hotel. The location is perfect! Had we known how good everything was we would have chosen to stay in this hotel during the whole vacation in Madeira
It was much nicer and quieter than staying in Funchal. All places in the island are easy to reach by car (a car is essential).
The staff was extremely helpful and kind. The food at the restaurant very good. The homemade ice cream delicious.
The real point in favor of the house is the delightful village where it is located, Jardim do mar. The house is comfortable, there is everything you need. Clean. The sea can only be seen from the roof, but at night you can hear it, beautiful. It was nice to find water and wine when we arrived.
Everything! Location was great, bed extremely comfortable, breathtaking views. Amazing to fall asleep with the sound of the sea. Jardim do Mar & Paul do Mar are amazing. We will come back.
