The perfect place to spend several days soaking up the gorgeous views, relaxing as you watch the river boats drift by. Wonderful, caring staff who made you feel so welcome.
Breakfast was plentiful, and a good selection. Highly recommend the train to Pochino, absolutely magnificent views of the Douro Valley, and also the train to Pinhao.
We loved the village of Foz Tua. The local restaurants offered a great menu, especially the fish. This family run hotel is to be congratulated for it's wonderful customer service.

There is absolutely nothing going on here, except when the train rolls in and brings some tourists. The town is very quiet and that’s spot on the best thing. There were a few restaurant options during the evening and most places offered a ton of food for a very low price.

We had the one bedroom apartment with balcony overlooking the Duoro River. It had a very nice kitchen and bathroom. The lounge had a twin bed which might have pulled out for a second twin if needed. The bedroom have a desk but no mirror and queen size bed and comfortable pillows and nice linen. All rooms have view of river and everything was spotlessly clean and modern. The breakfast was excellent with meat, cheese, bread, cake, jams, and scrambled eggs plus fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee. The pool area had plenty of loungers and umbrellas and over looked the river. There was a walking trail along the river and the train was across the street as well as two restaurant.
