Beautiful hotel, comfortable room and bed, outstanding breakfast, great facilities would have scored a 10 but a number of the spa facilities were under maintenance with no prior notice, so weree unable to use the full facilities.
Parking 100 metres away on public parking for free.

The host was friendly and helpful. He called me by phone to recommend a free parking near the property.
The initial assigned room had some damp smell and the host changed me to another available room.
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, quiet, and included air conditioning. A bottle of water and some crackers were offered.
The property provides coffee and tea for free in the common area. This common area has a small refrigerator, toaster, microwave, sink, and tables with seating.

The hotel is very well located in the town, it has excellent parking and great views out over the surrounding countryside.

Off the beaten path, on the far East side of Portugal (nearly on the Spanish border). Friendly and interesting people, and interesting history to explore through castles, forts and a marvelous aqueduct.

Lots to see, so make sure you have comfortable clothing and shoes.
Like most Portugeus towns, it is very hilly with narrow streets and lots of steps.
Architecture is stunning and historic with plenty of stories of old.
More vegetarian/vegan restaurants would be a bonus.
The whole Alentejo region is a must-see when visiting this beautiful country.

Elvas is an historic old city with an amazing Roman aqueduct. The local restaurants were not catering for tourists and hardly anyone spoke English. We ate in the hotel which was good value in a lovely setting. We visited the British cemetery for the soldiers of the Peninsular War. The old town is is all cobblestone alleys and we kept getting lost but that was part of its charm.

This is a cool fort town on the Spanish border worth visiting. Great for practicing my Spanish and Portuguese. The old town is walkable and worth a day. Get a number of a local taxi service to explore the other two forts nearby, pick up groceries etc. Plan ahead of taking a comboio or autoexpresso as it's in a pretty remote location so you can't just catch a train out every 30 minutes like you can in Lisbon.
The region it is in, the Alentejo is also generally quite beautiful and it's worth taking a bus to Estremoz and the Evora if in the area.

A great small restaurant recommended by the Hotel was Mercato, is a perfect place to dine. Excellent service and food cooked to order with a lot of attention to quality and flavours.
If you want to visit the 17th Century defences of Elvas and the matching Star Fort, this is the hotel to stay at. Right on the walls at the entrance into the old town. Old fashioned hotel in the good sense. Excellent and helpful staff. Note that car parking can be difficult in old Elvas so take that into account. Once you park, do not move until necessary. Elvas also still has a garrison of Portuguese military. Do visit the Military Museum, it is very interesting and you might see the horses that are still keep there.
Location, room and staff. for the money was the best value if you need a place in the center of Elvas. Perfect to visit the city, do business you went there to do and explore the many interesting places nearby including a visit to Spain nearby.
Breakfast wonderful second stay at this hotel used pool yes food a little expensive but a wonderful place to stop staff very nice plenty of parking under cover out of the sun would always use again .
Lovely peaceful hotel located right in the center of Elvas old town. The house is beautiful and big and the pool and garden are really nice. I very much enjoyed the breakfast.
