We had a lovely time - everyone was super nice, the side view to the ocean was gorgeous, and the food was good as well. The hotel is 15 min by Uber/Bolt from Funchal center, but there was also a free shuttle bus.
Surrounded by gardens and overlooking Ilhas Desertas and the Ponta de S. Lourenço, the The Views Oasis is only 8 km from Madeira Airport.

Very good location, just by the ocean, between airport and Funchal - perfect base for exploring the island. Hotel is renovated/beeing renovated (some works in parts of the hotel). Good breakfast buffet with high quality ingredients (with one minor defect described below). Very good dinner buffet. Friendly, helpful staff. Superior package was a nice surprise - I thought it's only about the sea view and bigger room, but turned out to mean also pre-reserved table of choice (always the same) for dinner and two a-la-carte excellent dinners. Heated outside pool with ocean water is great in winter!

Location near Christo Rei is excellent having stayed in the area before. The flat was on a low level with a wide clear view out to the sea. Large balcony. Good range of utensils.

The property had a great view and it was opposite a busy gym. That was really the extent of its positives, It is an old apartment block, which needs a lot of work, and although its only a short walk to a small number of nice restaurants, parking on the street is a nightmare due to all the nearby hotels and the fitness centre, which is very popular.

Small town so little nightlife.
Small town so little nightlife. Good bus links into Funchal and down to Canico de Baixo. Good restaurants, especially La Terresa. Two supermarkets and many cafes.
Prices lower than in Funchal. Quinta Splendida gardens open to non residents for 4 euros. Lovely place to sit and relax. Not a tourist hotspot so locals go about their daily life. Nice to see the real culture.

We stayed in Garajau which is fairly quiet local area away from the Bay of Canico but we should have hired a car. There were two little supermarkets and a few restaurants & cafes which were very reasonably priced.

Caniço isn’t for the city lovers.
Caniço isn’t for the city lovers. It’s lovely down by the sea front promenade with several local restaurants providing relatively cheap, very plentiful and tasty meals several specialising in fish. There are also some lovely local cafes which were sampled extensively.
It has easy access to the main arterial road towards Funchal, Camera de Lobos and Ribero Bravo to the west and the airport (10-15 minutes drive)then around to the north side of the island when travelling eastwards.

Canico itself has not much to offer, but it is a quiet, clean neighborhood and a 12 min drive from both Funchal and the Airport, however most of the things to do was either in the heart of the island or at the northern part, so be ready to drive around. There are restaurants and multiple grocery stores in the area.

Jose and Amelia were very kind from the very beginning til the end of our stay. They recommended loads of places to visit and provided everything we requested. The property is gorgeous, even better than on the photos, and has everything you need for a group stay. We genuinely loved it! A car is a must have in Madeira, also as this is a smaller town, but there is a parking on the street next to the house. Highly recommended!
Great place to stay during the traveling. Really enjoyed the pool. Rooms were nice nice and the location was good. There were some very good cafes and restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay there again, if ever in Madeira again.

It's a gorgeous, intimate place with a beautiful garden. The place looks brand new, the apartment we stayed in had everything we needed. We'll
be definitely staying there when we're in Madeira next time.
