The location is great to go to the beach or have a walk to town. Staff was nice and met our requests when it was possible. They have two spots for car electric charging by the entrance, expensive but conveniente. Indoor pool open all year around. They provide towels for the pool/beach.

I spent a few beautiful weeks in the Algarve at the end of 2024. I traveled the entire southern and southwestern coast. Also the southeastern border with Spain. I tried to get to know the local people, customs, nature... I like the local market, the local simple food, fish. Until mid-December, I was swimming regularly and beautifully. I lived in different places, always for a few days. Alvor is a stunning, traditional town on the Algarve, and still feels slightly less touristy than some of the larger towns such as Albufeira. We have visited 4 times now, and still find new places to eat and visit, but also love that many of the restaurants have stayed the same and still serve excellent fresh fish, meat etc at the same quality and all very reasonably priced. The local supermarket in Alvor is not overpriced either, and there is also a Lidl and and Aldi now within 10 mins drive. The beaches, caves, and cliffs around Alvor and particularly at the Prainha Clube resort are stunning and you can walk for miles along the boardwalk. We highly recommend the Casa da Mare and the Mediterraneamente restaurants as 2 favourites, but there are so many others to choose from! As a family of 3 who enjoy eating out, good beaches, beautiful ocean views and walking/spending time playing cards together, Alvor is the perfect choice!

Great Fishing town, lots of fantastic places to eat, especially fish. Great Nature reserve and extended walks, plus walking along a very long shoreline. Buses to other local towns were fine for day visits. The local bus app is good. No where is far from anywhere. Loads of bars if that is your thing. Lifeguard manned beach. To note, some places shut over the winter season.
Alvor Wine is a great restaurant, booking required. Lusitania for good veggie and organic fusion, plus meat and fish Casa del mare good fish.

Alvor is a beautiful spot. It’s quiet and more geared for families and couples. No real nightlife for young adults. Beautiful restaurants. Beautiful beach. If you’re looking for value for money the restaurants are nearly the same price as home.

Poor drinks service had to que and the sizes where to small, cocktails they used house spirits, u might aswell use white spirit.

Restaurants and bars are great. The boardwalk is super, taking you along the beach and into town. It's a shame Michael's bar doesn't have Karaoke any more as the karaokes in the town are not a patch on Michael's where everyone would meet after food and visiting other music bars and Irish bars. You could meet up with people you would see every year from all over.

It is a well located Hotel. On the adjacent road there are a few mini marts for essentials. The hotel has access to the beach and a broadwalk that connects other hotels and beaches. The pool is ok and there were enough loungers for everyone, albeit not around the pool. The grounds are clean, our room was a good size and housekeeping was good and fast. The hotel is a short drive to Alvor Marina, approximately 8-10 minutes, and there are loads of restaurants to choose from there.
Loved this hotel. Clean, large rooms in a quiet area of Alvor yet 5 minutes walk to the centre. We had a room on the top floor with a large balcony and great views. Good car parking area. We stayed an extra day it was so relaxing after walking the boardwalks and the cliff tops. A good choice of breakfast served. November is the perfect time to enjoy Alvor, great weather and no crowds.
Incredible house turned into a hotel where you can either enjoy the beatiful beaches and restaurants nearby or use it as a base station to visit the rest of Algarve. The owners were very kind and they give you very useful recommendations. It was the best experience that we had in Portugal, you are not going to regret if you stay here.

Great hotel, large bedrooms with a great balcony. The swimming pool and outside facilities were great plenty of space and sun loungers. A good 15 mins walk into alvor centre, but we didn't mind that, also a great free bus ran regularly to and from the beach , Friendly staff :-)
People in location are friendly as most Portuguese are but there is not a lot to see except you are going to stay on the beach and have place to sleep. Alvor compare to other Algarve cities is not very attractive and you need to go to other places.
