Excellent location at a lovely and easily accessible beach. Great sea views from our 9th floor balcony. Very quiet at night so we slept well.

Excellent access point via road (quick access to a A22 but without the noise) or rail to the Algarve and North to Lisbon.
Within 30mins drive of a good number of golf, tennis & bowls opportunities and 15mins from beaches & market towns.

Liked the well appointed kitchen for cooking and storing food in fridge. Aircon in bedroom was a plus. Bedroom was a good size. Outdoor living area was also great. Nice and quiet for sleeping.
The beach was not really walking distance. Train was close. Shops not too far.

Almancil is a wonderful little village, close to everything...
Almancil is a wonderful little village, close to everything you might need and plenty of other places of interest are only 15 minutes away by car.
We found that although it was full of Portuguese charm, it was a very popular holiday destination.
We had the opportunity to try Juncalinho, Borges and Nuno's which were lovely and served traditional Portuguese food, which is what we were hoping for on our holiday. We also got a takeaway from Brasa Frango & Co, which was fantastic if you fancy a night in. The chicken and peri peri sauce was perfect.
We will definitely go back to Almancil!

I would recommend Almacil for solo travellers who want to...
I would recommend Almacil for solo travellers who want to get away and see the beautiful country of Portugal. Public transport via bus are short walks away and easy to find via google maps. Key places are a short journey away such as Faro, Quarteira and Albufeira. Plenty of places to eat and also has two supermarkets, one of them being Aldi which has most things you could possibly need. I found the locals very friendly and overall i felt safe wondering around and exploring.
Would i go again? no because ide rather be by the beach but thats a personal preference although the beach is short bus journey away but not really walkable as it takes around 1.5 hours to walk.

This town has a range of supermarkets, many restaurants, some cafes and a gem - the Church of St Lawrence (Igreja de São Lourenço). This is lined from floor to ceiling with tiles, which depict stations of the cross and much more. The tiles are highlighted with gilded wood carvings, especially around the alter.
Good location. Just a stroll to Almancil centre. Excellent supermarket 1 minute away.
Property was as described on site. Spotlessly clean. Owner had supplied basic condiments, dishwasher & laundry tabs.
Our arrival was late due to a 3hour flight delay. Owner accommodated this without fuss. He also made sure to check in with us during our stay to ensure there were no issues.
Wonderful host. I want to say thank you for our stay at Almancil. Lovely and huge house with a terrace and bbq. Everything was clean and cozy. We have some minor issues with bed sheets (we booked for 8 but we had bed sheets for 6) but the host was in touch with me in messenger and fixed it really fast. Also he brought amazing candies for us and it was so cute :)
We loved it's location and close proximity to everything, there's plenty of nice restaurants and shops near the almancil roundabout. Our kids loved the play tower and trampoline on site. Ideal to burn off energy in the mornings and afternoons.
Steven our host was always a simple text away to provide valuable tips and help.
This is our 4th time to stay very near the airport so convenient to. Travel away or whatever great to have parking can walk to restaurants and love the almost rural setting even tho almancil is a commercial centre
