We booked this hotel for a three day break, driving to the Algarve from our house just north of Lisbon. We are very familiar with all things Portuguese, and everything at Vila Alba was excellent. The ultra modern sea view suite was fabulous (shame there were only 4 hangars in the wardrobe!), wonderfully comfortable, and immaculately cleaned each morning at our chosen time. The restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner was also excellent, with delightful attentive staff, and a sea view to die for. The whole resort is really quite spectacular with imposing architecture and a real feeling of style and quality.
There is a small beach which is a few minutes walk down the cliff path, which definitely is not child buggy/wheelchair friendly.
The long narrow approach road is not for the nervous driver, but on the plus side, there is very little unwanted traffic to spoil the tranquility of the resort.

This is a small village with a splattering of eateries, with Pera which is close by having slightly more facilities. We however were happy with the quietness of the villa and surrounding area.. perfect for us four, two golfers and two walkers.. with afternoons spent around our own private pool..
If you want a bit more nightlife the Beach is a short drive away or a longer walk where there is plenty to do ..
We were happy with the peace an quiet, made our own entertainment card and board games .. became quite competitive 🤣
