Ambiance of the hotel built within the castle, using some of the original castle walls. The staff on site was exemplary. The beds were great. Loved the fireplace fire at night, with a cold drink. Das gut.

Lovely place with a small pool and shared facilities - we had a great family picnic at the tables by the pool.

Quinta da Alentegria is a beautiful property, privately owned, very close to the city of Alcácer. It has a very nice pool area, a playground, and several sofas in the shade to read a book or rest. The cottages are comfortable and nicely furnished, and the kitchenette is well equipped. The hosts are a Belgian couple, super polite and friendly. We traveled with our neurodivergent 5-year-old son, and they went above and beyond to accommodate his needs and make our stay the best possible. We are already planning our next stay! 😊
A nice and quiet place, with small nice restaurants.

Some bridges with different coloured light cross the Sado river, joining the two halves of the town, and give a touch of magic to the town during the night.
Two huge stork-nest on the top of the Cathedral complete a very suggestive picture of the town.

Alcacer do Sal is a lovely place to spend a relaxing break.
Alcacer do Sal is a lovely place to spend a relaxing break. There are numerous restaurants/cafes/bars. There are places of interest to visit, for those interested in history and archeology. Also just a short drive away there are some beautiful beaches and interesting towns and typical Alentejo villages. Good for walking and cycling.

Alcacer do Sal is a lovely place to visit.
Alcacer do Sal is a lovely place to visit. The narrow streets are great to explore. A pleasant walk along the Sado and stopping for coffee at one of the many cafes/bars is very relaxing.
There are many good restaurants to choose from and staff are friendly and helpful.

A great place to spend a short break.
A great place to spend a short break. The place has a lot of charm and there are numerous restaurants where one can eat a variety of food.
The tourist office is small, but helpful.
Next time it would be good to hire bicycles as there are designated cycle paths, with easy cycling.

The unusual and historic hotel over looking the town below...
The unusual and historic hotel over looking the town below with views for miles. The river with lots of cafes and restaurants long the prom. Out of season still plenty of places open and the only draw back was the walk into town, 10 mins downhill, half an hour to walk back up.

Completely misleading description, not on the Riverside as stated, no easy parking, extremely difficult to find. Room was extremely cold, no facilities, no kettle, no-one else in the property but not given a view. Listed as a luxury hotel, it is not. If I hadn't paid beforehand I would have asked for a huge discount. Dreadful place simply foul.
