Białystok is a special place for us because of our family there. However, it is an excellent place in Poland to visit for a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of better known tourist cities. It is a safe, walkable town with attractive venues such as the Branicki Palace and gardens. You can enjoy Polish puppet theater, live dramatic theater, and music in both outdoor and indoor settings such as the Podlaskie Opera. If you enjoy museums, you won't be disappointed. There are several museums in which you can learn of the history of the region, remember the deportations and sacrifices made under Soviet Union control, or learn about Ludwik Zamenhof and his development of the Esperanto international language. For us, the most pleasant times have been walking through the beautiful parks and relaxing. Enjoy your visit!

Nice city in general, a lot of activities to be found, two days in city just were not enough. There are a lot of good places to eat and prices are more than reasonable. Personally I would recommend visiting "Akcent Zoo", which is free of charge and The Branicki Palace. Parking in City center is cheap and free on weekends, places in general are not far away from each other so walking within a city is a good option. Local shopping malls have really good prices.

Bialystok is a really lovely city.
Bialystok is a really lovely city. Lots of parks, free mini zoo in one of them. There is a palace with nice walking grounds. Everything is quite compact since Bialystok is not very big. Yet there is enough to see for at least a full day visit. Probably more if you want to go to museums, visit the palace, spend some time in one of old town Cafe and so on. Worth visiting at least once.

Beautiful old town, but very small.
Beautiful old town, but very small. It will take you at most an hour here. It is not possible to see the Branicki Palace from the inside, entry to the museum is only for cash. Exchanges are closed on Sundays, so it is not possible to enter this museum.
A wonderful and delicious breakfast at Kafejeto Arkadiusz Klinicki, street Mazowiecka 48.

Very beautiful city with all the amenities of a big city but the peacefulness and slower pace of a smaller town. Amazing Park Branickich with its palace and gardens. Main Street closed off to car traffic to allow for a chillout cafe / restaurants experience by the Ratusz. Great public transport, cheaper prices than the capital and lots of cultural happenings all year round.
